PE-2 GUNNERY PRACTICE

The Pe-2 entered service in 1940, and was
much better than the SB-2 as a dive
bomber. 11,427 were produced during the
war, making it one of the major ground
support planes in service. It was armed
with 1 x 12.7mm machinegun and 2 x 7.62mm
machineguns in the nose. There was a
rear gunner (behind the pilot) and a
belly position that also fired to the
rear only, both with a single 12.7mm mg.
The Pe-2 could carry 600 kilograms of
bombs (3 x 440 pound bombs).

                    YOUR MISSION

As you approach the bridge, you will
encounter two pairs of fighters on
patrol. The enemy planes will not evade
your attack. Practice your deflection
shooting techniques with the P-38's
machine guns as well as its rear guns.
To be accurate in a deflection shot, you
must lead your target so that your
bullets intercept its line of flight.
Be sure to activate your rear guns by
pressing "G" then "A" for autofire
(activate both positions- there is one at
"5" and one at "0")

Your Pe-2 cannot be damaged and has
unlimited ammunition.

Your mission will not end automatically.
You must choose to quit. Please see your
reference guide for instruction on how to
quit, as well as information on other
controls.
