Defend Frankfurt from RAF Bombers

WEATHER: Niteowl

The Ta154 A-1, billed by German
propagandists as the "Teutonic
Mosquito," had a brief, inglorious
life in the Luftwaffe, through no
particular fault of its own. Time
was insufficient to allow a thorough
working out of all the aircraft's
"bugs," and "teething troubles."
The biggest problem was structural
integrity; the Tego-Film glue used
in the construction of successful
prototypes and pre-production machines
was not available for the main pro-
duction run, since the RAF had des-
troyed the Tego-Film factory. The
replacement glue was inadequately
tested, and was found to rot the
plywood used throughout the wooden
aircraft. Thus, crashes occurred,
along with fires, leading to the
termination of the program. This was
unfortunate for the Germans, because
the prototypes had performed VERY well
during testing. Only 8 had been com-
pleted, and saw service with I/NJG3
during 1945.
ORDERS: A bomber stream has been de-
tected on its way to Frankfurt. Lead
your flight of Moskitos into the
stream to track down and destroy as
many bombers as possible.
