Rail Busting

WEATHER: Niteowl
INSERTS: None
RADAR: AI MkVII (map usable)

In early 1943, Bristol Beaufighters
were used in a variety of nocturnal
roles. In addition to home defence
intruder sorties, the Beau was also
often called upon to hit targets at
night which were impractical to
strike at with large bomber formations,
or in weather conditions unfavorable
to high-altitude bombing. One focus
of such missions was railyards and
supply centers. Often in 1943 these
were the sites of ground units en-
training to or from the Eastern Front.
ORDERS:
You are the leader of a flight of 4
Beaufighters, armed with bombs and
rockets. Proceed to the Koblenz rail
yard and destroy as many buildings as
possible. Allied intelligence places
supplies and vehicles marshalling at
this railyard for a trip east. Ele-
ments of NJG4 and I/NJG1 are based
along your route and may intercept
you with Ju88s and Bf110s.
