This is now the second public non-beta release of MIDAS Module
Player. Please check it out and tell us what you think, but
_please_ read the documentation first. After all, there
actually is some!

This revision fixes VU-meter problems with large looping
samples. The Gravis UltraSound support is also better now. Sound
Blaster 16 support, however, still does not work properly. It
might work with some output modes, like 8-bit (-o8) or 8-bit
mono (-o8m). Please try them and tell us what works. This is the
only way there is any hope of getting the SB16 support working,
as we ourselves can not test it. If it fails totally, or we get
no response, our only option is to remove SB16 support
altogether. After all, 8-bit mono sound is better than no sound
at all. Besides, we are getting really fed up with the card.
Does anybody know Creative Labs technical support e-mail
address?

MIDAS Sound System is also now available. Read MIDAS.TXT for
more information about MIDAS Sound System.

Just FYI, here is some miscellaneous information: (you'd be
better of by reading MIDP.DOC though)

Who is S2? S2 is an abbreviation of Sahara Surfers, which simply
means us. We are:
   Guru Jarno Paananen Amiga & PC coding
   Stratos Janne Oksanen Graphics and Music
   Alfred          Petteri Kangaslampi     PC coding
   Switch          Teemu Kalvas            PC coding

MIDAS Sound System (and MIDP as well) was coded by Alfred and
Guru. In case you want to know who did what, here is a list:

Alfred:
        * MIDAS main architechture
        * Mixing routines (DSM)
        * PAS, WSS and SB Sound Devices
        * Most of MIDP itself

Guru:
        * GUS and No Sound Sound Device
        * Both Protracker and Scream Tracker 3 module players

        In addition to this, both of us periodically messed with
        each other's code, usually effectively breaking it...

Switch:
        * Beta testing and bug reports

Stratos:
        * Lots of music incompatible with all players except the
          correct Protracker version.

Now you know whom to vote for the charts. ;-)

This is not important. The documentation is. Read it, will you?
