S3 Trio FEATURE CONNECTOR Ver 1.0

This program is a DOS utility for the Trio32 & Trio64.

Note that the valid feature connector modes are VGA, 640x480 256 colors,
and 800x600 256 colors.

Usage:

Trio32 - The feature connector is automatically enabled in the BIOS for
         the Trio32. However, for the Trio32 PCI, FCON can be utilized
         to enable the DAC Snoop bit in the PCI configuration space.
         Type "FCON" at the DOS prompt.

Trio64 - At the DOS command prompt, the user has the option to type
         in the following:
  FCON e d s v,
  e = Enable, d = Disable, s = Standard (Pass-through), and v=VAFC.

 The active setting for this systems is, "FCON e s" which enables
 standard or Pass-through. Inactive setting is "FCON d"

Options:

A) Entering "FCON" at the command prompt displays a menu:

       e = enable, d = disable, s = standard feature connector, v = VAFC.

        i.e. FCON e s (Enable standard feature connector)
            FCON d  (Disable feature connector)

Recommended System Installation:

Add to CONFIG.SYS:

          INSTALL=FCON.EXE e s


Pallet Snooping:

If FCON detects a Trio32PCI, it enables DAC Snoop.  If it detects a
Trio64, options are given to enable the feature connector
(the DAC Snoop bit will also be enabled for the Trio64 PCI). Pallet
snooping will remain enabled after disabling the feature connector.

