You are about to begin the installation of the Audiotrix Pro software.
Please read the following information carefully which explains the
changes that will be made to your system. At any point, pressing <Esc>
will abort the installation.

The INSTALLP program will create the directory \TRXPRO (or another one
of your choice) and copy all of the files as follows:

If you requested the installation of the Windows programs, the
installation procedure will also copy the following files onto your hard

Your old SYSTEM.INI file will be renamed SYSTEM.PRO should you like to
return to it sometime in the future.

The installation procedure will modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT files by adding
the lines:

	SET MEDIATRIX=C:\TRXPRO\
	C:\TRXPRO\SETUPPRO -I

Your old AUTOEXEC.BAT file will be renamed AUTOEXEC.PRO should you like
to return to it sometime in the future.

During the installation procedure you will be asked to identify the
choices for the following:

        Wave interrupt (IRQ 7, 9, 10, 11 or None)
Wave playback DMA (0, 1, 3 or None)
        Wave capture DMA (0, 1 or 3)
        Wave address (530, 604, E80 or F40)
Wave full duplex (Enabled or Disabled)
        CD-ROM interrupt (if present) (IRQ 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 15 or None)
	CD-ROM DMA (if present) (DMA 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or None)
CD-ROM Address (if present) (Manual entry)
CD-ROM 16-bit transfer (if present) (Enabled or Disabled)
Sound Blaster interrupt (IRQ 3, 4, 5, 7 or None)
Sound Blaster DMA (DMA 1, 3 or None)
	Sound Blaster address (200, 210, 220, 230, 240, 250, 260 or 270)
	MPU-401 interrupt (IRQ 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 or None)
        MPU-401 address (330, 370, 3B0 or 3F0)
        Game Port (Enabled or Disabled)
Effects Processor (Effects, Disabled or Absent)
        Effects Address (318, 320, 328, 398)

The installation program will help you with these choices.

Your old \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MIDIMAP.CFG file will be renamed MIDIMAP.PRO
should you like to return to it sometime in the future.

All of the setup choices selected during the course of the installation are
saved in the file TRXPRO.INI which is found in the \TRXPRO subdirectory.

During the course of the installation several .MID files will be copied
into the \TRXPRO\MIDI subdirectory. Some of these files represent
original compositions commissioned by Mediatrix. Others represent works
that have been used with the composer's permission. All of the compositions
remain the property of their respective authors. No money is being charged
for these files. They are distributed freely to demonstrate the MIDI
playing features of the Audiotrix Pro.

Some of the MIDI files included on this disk are:

EQUINOX1.MID 19K Brian Havis, Essex, England
MAGNET1.MID 46K Brian Havis, Essex, England
OXYGENE6.MID 30K Brian Havis, Essex, England
RENDVOUS.MID 53K Brian Havis, Essex, England
SOUCHINA.MID 13K Brian Havis, Essex, England
FIDLING.MID 59K Gerard Jones (MediaTriX), Quebec, Canada
HAWK.MID 44K Gerard Jones (MediaTriX), Quebec, Canada
TECNOVOX.MID 76K Gerard Jones (MediaTriX), Quebec, Canada
ALIENS.MID 38K Henri Chalifour (MediaTriX), Quebec, Canada
EUROMAN.MID 90K Henri Chalifour (MediaTriX), Quebec, Canada
FASHION.MID 66K Henri Chalifour (MediaTriX), Quebec, Canada

Once the installation program has been completed, you must exit Windows
and reboot your computer. To test the setup parameters, enter the
\TRXPRO subdirectory and type TEST. A short test program will be
executed to help you verify all of the settings.

To experience the best sound quality and maximum dynamic range of the
Audiotrix Pro, sound sources that aren't in use should be kept muted.
For example, muting the CD-ROM setting in MIXERPRO/Windows Output Mixer
(when not in use) will ensure that no extraneous noise coming from the
CD-ROM drive is present in the output.

IMPORTANT: Should you wish to change the setup parameters of the
Crystal chip (Wave values) after installing the setup software for the
first time:

        - change the values in DOS by running SETUPPRO from the
          \TRXPRO subdirectory.
        - change the values in Windows by choosing the Main program
          group / Control Panel / Drivers / CS31BA11 Business Audio / Setup.

Make sure the DOS and Windows values are the same.

IMPORTANT: Should you have any problems performing the automatic
installation, the software can be installed manually. The instructions
for the manual installation are located in "MANUAL.INS" on the setup
diskette. Print "MANUAL.INS" as well as "INSTALL.TXT" to guide you
through the procedure.

IF YOU HAVE A NETWORK CARD OR SCSI ADAPTER IN YOUR SYSTEM: Please make
sure that neither adapter is using I/O adresses 380 to 390, as those
adresses are in conflict with the OPL4 (sitting at I/O 380). Some SCSI
adapters (e.g. Adaptec 1542) are factory defaulted to I/O 330, which
conflicts with the MPU-401 MIDI port. If you have a conflict, you might
want to change the address of your SCSI adapter or choose to use a
different MPU-401 I/O address in SETUPPRO.

NOTICE TO USERS OF EXTERNAL MIDI DEVICES: The Audiotrix Pro MIDI cable
is not compatible with a "Sound Blaster" type MIDI cable. The
opto-isolator circuitry found on "Sound Blaster" type MIDI cables is not
required with the Audiotrix Pro. Please contact MediaTriX to purchase
the cable or to obtain the proper pinout schematic. To setup the MPU-401
interface on the Audiotrix Pro to receive input from your MIDI devices,
please refer to the MPU401.TXT document found in the \TRXPRO directory.

Should you ever need to refer to information contained in this file, type
the command TRIXVIEW.EXE INSTALL.TXT from the C:\TRXPRO\ subdirectory.

Other .TXT files can also be viewed in a similar manner. From the C:\TRXPRO
subdirectory, type TRIXVIEW [path]<filename>, for example:

        TRIXVIEW C:\TRXPRO\MPU401.TXT

will allow you to view the contents of the MPU401.TXT text file.

Press <Enter> to proceed with the installation or <Esc> to abort.
