IBM Ultimedia Audio Install Readme.txt
*****************************************************************************************

Please follow all setup guidlines.

Steps

1.Boot your computer into windows NT 4.0 and delete sndsys.sys and sndsys32.dll and remove any
devices from the machine or Windows using these files. (I doubt there are any but we don't want conflicts)

Also if you haven't added multimedia NT components you can add them by using your NT CD.

2.Add the @DFE5.adf file do your Machine's Reference disk and sndsys.sys, sndsys32.dll, oemsetup.inf to a floppy.

3.Shut down your system and add your DFE5 IBM Ultimedia Card

4.Boot and set your adapter to the following recommended resources.

Record: DMA 3
Fairness: Disable
Burst: Enable
Playback: DMA 1
I/O: Your Choice
Adapter: Enable (duh)
IRQ: 9 (other IRQs are not supported by my driver yet)

5. ALWAYS check manually for resource conflicts on your system by looking at all your device settings.

6. Reboot, if you can reboot and login to your windows NT machine you are half way there.

7. go to Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Multimedia>>Devices>>Add>>Floppy drive>>Ultimedia
(ALWAYS hit the NEW button if it comes up we don't want to use old files in windows)

8. Click on the radio buttons to match the resources you choose in Reference Disk Setup.

9. Click on advanced button and max the buffer to 64k. Checking the "Use Single DMA" is up to you,
the driver doesn't support duplex transfers so it really doesn't have much effect.

10. Click Ok and Click ok

11. Under Windows NT drivers are dynamiclly loaded so you don't have to restart if you don't want to.

12. If it doesn't work and you are SURE you didn't do anything wrong, email me with your system specs.
