README notes for V2000-series version of Indycar Racing 2 from Papyrus

The enclosed executable is a patched version of the original INDYCAR.EXE
for the Verite V1000. It has been modified to recognize
V2000-series chips as valid Verite acclerators. It has been tested
only with a Rendition V2200 reference card. The executable is called
INDYCAR2.EXE. If you use the ICR2 batch files (INDYSAFE and INDYFAST)
to run the game, you should change the batch files to use INDYCAR2
 instead of INDYCAR.

The enclosed spd3d.uc file should replace the current one in your ICR2
directory. Make a backup of your current spd3d.uc file. Make sure
that the "speedy3d" environment variable is not set, so that the
correct microcode gets loaded.

This is a BETA release of both the executable and microcode.

The following "weird things" have been observed:

* if you disable mirrors (Alt-M) completely, they will be cleared to
  a bright green color.

* if you enable the "sky optimization" (Alt-K) you will crash the game

* if you enable "maximum speed mode" (Alt-X), this enables the sky
optimization and the machine will crash

* we have not been able to run the game successfully with DMA disabled
(INDYSAFE). On a machine that didn't run INDYFAST successfully,
booting Win95 then exiting to DOS mode correctly initialized
something that made INDYFAST work okay.

Therefore, if you want to run in turbo mode and see the frame rate
display, you can disable mirrors, antialiasing (Alt-A), time synch
(Alt-T), and enable the frame rate (Alt-F) individually.

We are looking in to the above problems.
