          INTRODUCTION
          -----------------------------------------------------------------

The following table summarizes the major files on the video
drivers diskette for VGA 1024. Refer to these tables
to determine which drivers are available.

          Video drivers diskette
          ---------------------------------------------------------------

          Driver Resolution Colors Notes

          MMWD480.DRV 640x480 256 gamma version

          NMMWD480.DRV 640x480 256 non-gamma version

          VGA800.DRV 800x600 16

          VGA1024.DRV 1024x768 16 does not operate
                                                    properly in Standard
                                                    mode, use in Enhanced
                                                    mode only

The 256-color palettes for the gamma and non-gamma drivers are
defined differently. The gamma drivers match the color scheme
used by the 16-color drivers. The non-gamma drivers use true
colors and may enhance the display on very high quality monitors.
We recommend using the gamma drivers.

          Installing a Windows Video Driver
          -----------------------------------------------------------------
Follow these instructions to install the Windows video drivers.

          1. Install Windows 3.1 with the standard VGA driver. Run
Windows, and check that Windows starts without any error
               conditions. Then, exit Windows.

          2. Change to the Windows directory.

          3. Type:

                    setup

               and press [Enter]

          4. Use the direction keys to highlight "Display," and press
               [Enter].

          5. Use the direction keys to highlight "Other," and press
               [Enter].

          6. When prompted for the display drivers diskette, insert the
video drivers diskette into Drive A and press [Enter].
A list of available drivers is displayed.

          7. Select a driver compatible with your monitor type, and
               press [Enter].
. Refer to your computer or video adapter documentation
and your monitor documentation for information about
monitor type requirements for video modes.

. Drivers that require 512KB of video memory are
                    identified by the notation 512KB.

. The 256-color palettes for the gamma and non-gamma
drivers are defined differently. The gamma drivers
match the color scheme used by the 16-color drivers.
The non-gamma drivers use true colors and may enhance
the display on very high quality drivers. We recommend
                    using the gamma drivers.

          8. Follow the prompts on the screen for inserting the Windows
diskettes and the video drivers diskette. When finished,
the SETUP program returns to MS-DOS.

          9. Run Windows. Windows will run in the new video mode and
display the resolution of the driver you selected. Verify
               that the driver operates correctly.

If your Windows screen is not readable after installing the video
driver, exit Windows. Then, rerun the Windows SETUP program from
MS-DOS, and select a lower resolution. To exit Windows, press
          [Ctrl+Alt+Del] to restart the computer.

          Changing Windows Video Drivers
          -----------------------------------------------------------------
After you determine that a driver operates correctly on your
system, you can select that driver by using the Windows SETUP
program from MS-DOS. Pick one of the VGA 1024 drivers.

You can also select a driver by using the Windows SETUP icon
from within Windows. Pick one of the VGA 1024 drivers. The
Windows SETUP program prompts you for the OEM display driver
disk if this diskette is not already in Drive A. At the prompt,
insert the video drivers diskette and press [Enter]. After
copying begins, Windows SETUP might again prompt for this
diskette as it searches for the WIN.CNF file. Enter the path:
               <drive>\windows\system
where <drive> is the letter of the drive on which you installed
          Windows.

The Windows 3.1 SETUP program's icon lets you restart Windows
without exiting Windows. Save your data files before doing an
          automatic restart.
