Introduction
------------

zippo is a package manager for DJGPP with an RPM-like syntax. It uses files
called DJGPP Software Manifests (DSMs) to handle software packages. The DSM
specification is included in the documentation.

Where to get zippo
------------------

zippo has a home page:

    http://www.phekda.freeserve.co.uk/richdawe/zippo/

How to install and use zippo
----------------------------

Installation is described in the file 'install.txt' that comes in
the binary and source distributions. They are also included in
the zippo manual.

The zippo manual is provided in info and HTML formats in the binary
distribution. Use 'info zippo' to read the info manual. You can read
the HTML manual by pointing your web browser at the file
'contrib/zippo015/doc/zippo.htm' off your DJGPP directory. Alternatively,
you can read the zippo manual here:

    http://www.phekda.freeserve.co.uk/richdawe/zippo/zippo.htm

The dsmcheck manual and DSM specification can also be read from here:

    http://www.phekda.freeserve.co.uk/richdawe/zippo/dsmcheck.htm
    http://www.phekda.freeserve.co.uk/richdawe/zippo/dsm.htm

How to contribute
-----------------

For zippo to improve, we need help. We need to people to help test, code,
document and generally break zippo. To help with this, there is a zippo
development mailing list:

    http://www.onelist.com/community/zippo-workers

Please subscribe to this mailing list if you're interested. Alternatively,
just drop me a mail at my address (see below).
