DIZCRIBE describes all the archive files you want. It
cooperates with 4DOS's DESCRIPTION ability. Nothing
more to say: use 4DOS ! (Be sure to have your
`MaxDescription` variable in the 4DOS.INI file as
large as possible (>= 480).) It also uses description-
files from the archives: FILE_ID.DIZ or DESC.SDI. The
description from these FILE_ID.DIZ's are stored in
DESCRIPT.ION and voila, the description appears when
typing DIR.

Usage: 4DIZ [options] filename ...
where options is a combination of:
/q quiet mode ("absolutely no text" displayed)
   /t truncate lines from descriptions
/f fill in short lines with spaces
/s smart describing: only the first one of a serie
/v very smart describing: the first description is
      divided over the whole serie
/n describe ALL files (not just those without
      a description )
/e exclude lines with less than /c alphanumerical
      characters and exclude the "@X**"-codes
/c followed by the minimum amount of alphanumerical
      characters (default 4)
/m followed by the maximum amount of lines of
description per archive (default, maximum 12)
   /r recurse into subdirectory's
   /b don't replace spaces with ascii 255
/d display mode with lots of intresting information
/p pause after each file in display mode
   /h or /? this screen

and filename ... is a list of filenames or wildcards.

It's possible (and preferable) to use the 4DIZ.INI
file. There are a few limits: This program can only
recognize a command-line of less than 127 characters.
And when describing a directory with over 2000 files,
a memory allocation error will probably occur.
To use the 4DIZ.INI file and this 4DHELP.TXT file,
please add "SET 4DIZ_PATH=drive:\path" to your
AUTOEXEC.BAT (without the quotes and drive and path
substituted by the drive and the path where 4DIZ.INI
and 4DHELP.TXT resides).
