Readme file for Hex Editor v3.9a PD 2003.

Copy HEXXIT39.ZIP to any DOS or Windows directory/folder, and unzip the
contents there. Start Hexedit on the command line with a filename, for
example:

HEXEDIT \dos\page.com

Where filename can be a windows long filename if enclosed in quotes.

Or, start Hexedit without specifiying any command line and start at the
file box menu, navigate using cursor keys, selecting with <enter>, and
switch windows with <tab>, and Shift-<tab>. Exits to editor or DOS with
<escape>. Select files, directories, and drives with left mouse click.

After entering the editor, use editing functions and use cursor keys or
mouse to move through the hex values, while changing them with <enter>,
<delete>, or <insert> as you edit. Use the mouse to position over bytes
and select them with left mouse click or select them for editing with
right mouse click.

Press Alt-Q at any time for online list of Hexedit functions and a brief
list of keys. Edit HEXEDIT.CFG for customizing. Read Hexedit.doc for
more complete editing functions.

Use the drop down menu selections with Escape, moving through them with
Left/Right/Up/Down cursor keys. Select a menu selection with Enter, and
exit the menus with Escape.

Hilight areas with Shift-<key> and mouse drag. Copy areas to clipboard
with Control-C and paste into any loaded file with Control-V, using
Control-X to undo paste, and Control-Z to undo all pastes.
