INSTALLATION:

Create a new subdirectory. For example if you are using hard disk
drive C: and the subdirectory you want is \C1B3A210, enter the
 following at the DOS prompt:

               C:
               MD\C1B3A210

Change the current subdirectory to the one we have just created using

               CD\C1B3A210

Copy one file from the program floppy disk to the new subdirectory.
 Example:
               COPY A:*.* C:\C1B3A210
One file should have copied. At the DOS prompt type in A210.EXE and
press ENTER. Seven files are extracted to the \C1B3A210 subdirectory:

               C1B3A210.EXE Billing system program
               OVERVIEW.TXT Usage, registration and distribution
                INSTALL.TXT Installation instructions
                  ORDER.TXT Order and registration form
               C1B3A210.CFG Documentation transport file
               C1B3A210.DOC Documentation transport file
                  C1COM.EXE Data communications program

To print the documentation to a printer use the DOS type command. For
 example to printer 1:

               TYPE OVERVIEW.TXT>LPT1
               TYPE ORDER.TXT>LPT1

To run the program from the C: drive under the \C1B3A210 subdirectory
type in the following and then press ENTER.

               C1B3A210

The program will be executed by either verifying or creating the
files required by the system. When either process has been completed
you will be placed in the Billing System Model 210 main menu.

DOS ENVIRONMENT:

The Model C1B3A210 uses a virtual memory manager that requires
a minimum of approximately 500k of free diskspace at all times.

Requires MS-DOS Version 3.1 or greater.
   Requires 512K of free memory.
Recommended disk space is 20 megabytes of free space.
   - Minimum disk space approximately 10 megabytes of free space.
    - Based on approximately 3000 claims for 1000 patients.
Requirements will vary based on usage.

   IMPORTANT NOTE:

In the CONFIG.SYS file it is important to have the FILES=50 or more
and the BUFFERS=15 or more. Failure to have this minimum setting may
result in premature program failure. Please refer to your DOS manual
for additional information regarding the CONFIG.SYS file
   configuration and maintenance.

  WINDOWS ENVIRONMENT:

   Same as DOS environment.
For best results when running this program under the Windows
operating system, it is recommended that you create a PIF
(Program Information File) using the PIF Editor supplied with
windows. Typical important parameters for 386 Enhanced Mode
   would be:

        Program Filename: \C1B3A210\C1B3A210.EXE
      Start-up directory: \C1B3A210
            Video Memory: (TEXT)
Memory Requirements: KB Required (512) KB Desired (640)
Display Usage: (Windowed) Full Screen is OK.
               Execution: (Background) Exclusive is OK.
    Close Window on Exit: (X)

IMPORTANT NOTE:

This product is network ready and works well with
multiple sessions running under windows. However,
it has been our experience on rare occasions to experience
either premature program termination, or system lockup
while running under the Windows version 3.1.

Using the serial communications to transmit claims
in a multitasking environment can encounter difficulty,
depending on a variety of issues. The speed of your
computer and it's disk drive, the UART chips used in your
serial communications, or what else is running under windows at
the same time are all typical factors. The Xmodem and Zmodem
transmission protocols are timing sensitive. Adjusting the baud
rate lower may yield improved results.

 MAC/UNIX ENVIRONMENT:

See DOS Environment. We have had some experience running our products
using DOS emulators with mixed results. Consideration must be given on
a case by case basis some factors to consider are:

  - RS232 configuration relative to UART emulation and the availability
and functionality of all connector pins relative to the RS232.
Some computers do not support all required pins in the connector.
  - Computer speed. Index record locking may fail for a variety of
    internal reasons.
  - FPU or math coprocessor may need to be present depending on emulator
  - Printer compatibility for using 10 cpi standard ASCII text.
