To restart the program from the DOS prompt change directory to \PAYPGMS
with the command CD \PAYPGMS then enter the command PAYUSA, like this

CD \PAYPGMS
PAYUSA

If you are running Windows 95 or 98 you may wish to set up an item on
the Start menu for Payroll USA. Windows programs usually come with a
600K Setup program that does this, but since this is a DOS program and
we want to save you some download time and disk space, here is how to do
it manually. It is really not that complicated and it is a one time job.

On the Windows desktop click Start, point to Settings, and then click
"Taskbar & Start Menu". Click the "Start Menu Programs" tab. Click
Add, and then click Browse. Locate the program you want to add
(\PAYPGMS\PAYUSA.EXE) and then click it. Click Next, and your existing
Start Menu items are listed. If you wish to create a new Payroll folder
then click on the "New Folder" button and type over the default name
with the name of your choice (example, Payroll or Payroll USA). If,
instead, you wish to add to the sub menu of an existing menu item then
double-click the menu item on which you want the program to appear.
Type the name that you want to see on the sub menu, and then click
Finish. If Windows prompts you to choose an icon, click one, and then
click Finish. You might want to continue adding sub menu items to the
Payroll folder for \PAYPGMS\PRINTDOC.EXE and for \PAYSLIDE\RUNSLIDE.EXE

If you also want a shortcut icon to appear on the Windows desktop
itself, then click Start, then Programs, and select the new Payroll item
(it will be on the bottom of the list). A sub menu listing all items
in that group appears to the right, right click on the sub menu item for
which you wish to create a desktop shortcut, a pop up menu appears,
click on "Create Shortcut". At this point a duplicate item appears in
your sub menu, right click on the duplicate and drag it onto the
desktop, if a pop up menu appears click on "Move Here"

In Windows 3.1 you can use Program Manager (File, New) to create a new
group for Payroll and new items for each program to be placed in the
group. The programs come with icons, Windows 98 uses our icons
automatically, in Windows 3.1 you have to browse for them or use a
default DOS icon.

You can also start Payroll USA by clicking on the program name
(PAYUSA.EXE) in Windows Explorer (95 and up) or File Manager (3.1).

After trying the program, should you decide not to register you can
delete the programs and recover 2.26 Mb of disk space by running
the batch file \PAYPGMS\UNINSTAL.BAT Your company and employee data
will remain in case you change your mind, or you can delete it if
no longer required (instructions will be displayed at end of UNINSTAL)
