                        Quick Change Directory - V1.1

1) Why This Tool?
=================

Don't you hate typing all these long diretory-names
just to change from one path to another?
With QCD-V1.1, you may just jump around in your directory-structure
only by hitting the cursor-keys. The structure will be read while
your jumping around, so there's always the current tree shown.
You don't have to update any files containing the structure.

2) Features
===========

- By pressing a single letter, you may cycle between all subdirectories
  in your current level which start with this letter.
  If no subdirectory exists starting with this letter, nothing happens
- Changing drives will be done with capital letters
- The current working-directory is blinking
- With <space> you may change directory without leaving QCD
- With <esc> nothing will be changed and your back in the directory
  where you started QCD
- Moving to the right, a new level of subdirectories will be shown
  - if there exists one. When moving back to the left, with <F2> you
  may close this level again.
- <F1> will give you a short help

3) Parameters
=============

With QCD /? you get a help something like:

/L##: Set number of lines to scroll
      When reaching the top or bottom of the screen,
      the tree will be scrolling by as many lines as you typed here,
      default is (I guess) 5.

/H##: Set color for hidden directories
      In case you have hidden directories,
      they will be shown in this color.

/S##: Set color for system directories
      In case you have system directories,
      they will be shown in this color.

/B##: Set color for both hidden and system directories
      In case you have hidden system directories,
      they will be shown in this color.

/R##: Set color for regular directories
      All other directories will be shown in this color.

/M : Memory information (only registered version)
      Representing the structure is done with pointers.
      With /M, the difference between allocated and deallocated
      pointers will be shown. (When opening a new level and closing
      it afterwards, of course the difference must be the same than before).

/D : Detailed Memory information (only registered version)
      This shows the absolute number of allocated and deallocated
      pointers.

4) Known Bug
============

When you have so many subdirectories, that they won't fit in one line,
a scrolling to the side is not yet implemented, because I thought that
this won't happen very often.
However, if you're interested, I'll try to fix it. Just send email.

5) Registering
==============

... makes the first little message going away.
Furthermore you'll get a clear conscience because I think that
$ 5,- is not much for all the work that I've had for this tool.
If you're interested, just send an email to

            ===> ortlofrd@studbox.uni-stuttgart.de <===

or send a postcard to:

          Roland Ortloff
          Bussardweg 4
          71334 Waiblingen
          Germany

I'll tell you then where the money goes to.

6) Apologize
============

No fishing for compliments, but I guess there are quite a few
mistakes in this text. Please ignore :)

That's it folks,

Ciao Roland :)

P.S.: Please feel free to try more great tools in grtool10.zip from Simtel,
