Copying DMF (1.68MB) formatted disks
------------------------------------

Ultra Copy is capable of making backup copies of your Windows 95
installation disks, which are formatted to 1.68MB (DMF format).

Copying of these unconventional sized disks under DOS or Windows 3.x works
fine. Under Windows 95, however, UCopy (as well as all other disk copying
programs I have tested) has a problem in duplicating these disks.

To rectify this problem, there are two possibilities:

1) Run UCopy in MSDOS mode (not just as a DOS window). This is a setup
that must be done in the properties when creating an icon for UCopy.
When shutting down, you also have the option of going to MSDOS mode.
In essence Win 95 is then not running. (To get back to Win 95 from
this mode, type WIN and Enter).

or

2) You have to disable Windows 95's interference with the floppy disk
controller, and let DOS 7.00 and the BIOS handle it (which is the way
it was always done in the past, and anyway is faster.)

Do the following from within Windows 95:

Select Control Panel, choose System icon and click on Device Manager.
Select Floppy Disk Controllers (click on the +) to expand it, and
choose Standard Floppy Disk Controllers option. Inside this option,
a window will appear. Disable the "Original Configuration" switch.
As you exit from here, you will be prompted to reinitialize Win95 -
    do so.

From now on the copy program should work fine.
