In the present experiment you will be shown a number of arrays
of letters. Each array will consist of 12 letters arranged into
  3 rows.
For example you may be shown:

			A S D F
			Q W E R
			Z X C V

Soon after the array is removed from the screen a tone will be sounded.
The tone serves as a cue to which row should be reported.

If a high pitched tone is sounded you are expected to report letters from
	the top row.
If a medium pitched tone is sounded you are expected to report letters
	from a middle row.
If a low pitched tone is sounded you are expected to report letters from
	a bottom row.

As letters are not present at the moment when tone is sounded you must
rely on your memory when making a response.

It is important that you familiarize yourself with the tones to be
    used in the study.

To hear a high pitch tone press 'H'
To hear a medium pitch tone press 'M'
To hear a low pitch tone press 'L'

Press these buttons as often as you like until you are fairly
familiar with the tones. Also, try to associate the pitch of a
tone with a position of a row of letters in an array.

After you hear a tone try to report as many letters as you can from
   the specified row.

After the tone you simply type the letters that you managed to
   memorize, and then press ENTER.

If you are not sure about a letter you can guess, but bare in mind
that you can enter only up to 4 letters.

Guess only when you are not sure about the letter. If you do not
know which letter was presented, enter only letters you have some idea
about. In other words, guess only when you are not certain, not when
   you don't have a clue.

The best strategy is to repeat to oneself all letters from a designated
row you have memorized before typing them.

In the practice trials you will be given feedback. No such feedback will
   be given during experimental trials.

Remember to repeat the memorized letters to yourself before typing
them. Also remember to press enter after you have typed the letters.
You don't have to rush as the next trial won't start until you
press enter. However, do not think about your answer for too long
as that is not likely to improve your performance.

If you want to read instructions again, you can do so by pressing
'Q' and 'A'. If you understood instructions you can start practice
   trials by pressing 'X'
