Update:

PLCLST14.EXE corrects problems when attempting to print to disk
and several small improvements.

PLCLST11.EXE provides for continuous scrolling during a save to
disk file. Press <PAUSE> to stop scrolling and then any key to
continue. To abort press <ESC>.

If your database is very large the output to the printer is not
recommended as the amount of paper would be very great. Saving
to a disk file then reviewing with a text editor or wordprocessor
is the best bet for large files. Due the amount of data displayed
and the format in which it is displayed the saved file can be
quite large. The saved file name is PLACELST.DAT and will be
in the PAF DATA directory.

PLACELIST is a simple utility file for viewing and monitoring you
PAF database for inconsistencies in place name entry levels.

PLACLIST does not write to or change your data in any way. Each
RIN# of your data is parsed and all place names entered are displayed
in an easy to read format on the screen and can be written in the same
format to a disk file PLACELST.DAT in your data directory for later viewing
with a word processor if desired. This file can become quite large and
can be up to several times the size of your INDIV2.DAT file. Be sure you
have plenty of free disk space. If there are later versions, the option
of save/not save for the disk file may be incorporated.

An option for printer output is offered but I would advise against this
unless you have a very small database. There could be up to 16 printed
lines for each RIN#. This could use a LOT of paper.

The following format is a sample of the screen display:

 Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Event R/MRIN

                 Graham Arizona USA bir R1
Henderson Clark Nevada USA dea R10
 Colton California USA mar M30

If there are no place names in the RIN# record then that RIN# is not
displayed. If any field has no name entry, then that level above is left
blank.

Display is one screen at a time with keyboard input to continue to the
next screen. If printer output is selected, then there is no keyboard
input necessary, the display will scroll continuous with a screen clear
and reprint of the heading at every 19 lines. The display will slow down
to the speed the printer will accept the data. With a large printer buffer,
or a print spooler, the data will scroll by quite fast.

PLACELIST is as very simple program that may be of assistance to you
in your PAF maintenance. PLACELIST is released as Freeware and may
be freely distributed.
