This is some sample text which you can display on the screen and use to
practice the Enable Reader commands. To access the Enable Reader functions,
you have to go into the READ MODE, which is done by typing the CONTROL RIGHT
SHIFT key combination. When you want to return to your applications program,
just type another CONTROL RIGHT SHIFT, and you will then leave the Read Mode
and return to the INPUT MODE. If you prefer, you can use the CONTROL LEFT
SHIFT key combination, instead of the CONTROL RIGHT SHIFT, to do this toggling
between the Read Mode and the Input Mode.
You can enter the Read Mode at any time, even in the middle of disk reads
and scrolling screen displays. Note that the contents of the screen is frozen
while you are in the Read Mode; thus you cannot accidentally change the text
on the screen while you are executing the Enable Reader commands.
When you enter the Read Mode, the original cursor on the screen gets
replaced by a different and separate READ MODE CURSOR. You can move this Read
Mode Cursor to review the contents of the screen. The Enable Reader CURSOR
MOVEMENT KEYS move the Read Mode Cursor without speaking any of the
characters. The READING KEYS actually speak different portions of the screen.
When you return to the Input Mode, the Read Mode Cursor disappears, and
the original cursor reappears where you left it when you entered the Read
Mode. If you are doing word processing and wish to have the original cursor
reappear at the location of the Read Mode Cursor, you then use the Enable
Reader MATCHUP command, instead of the CONTROL RIGHT SHIFT command, to exit
the Read Mode.
