In response to the Action? prompt, the FILE command places a filename tag
on the message specified in your command.
 
Action? FILE IN meetings       To file a message which you have just read.
 
If the filename is new, Envoy 100 will display:

'filename' does not exist. 
Do you wish to create it?      You must answer YES or NO
 
Filenames can be 20 characters maximum. They must start with an alpha
character and can contain numbers and periods. No spaces or other
punctuation marks are allowed. Messages can be filed in up to six different
filenames.
       
 
Command? FILE 3 IN meetings    To file a message listed in the scan table
                               without reading it (n is the scan number
                               in the scan table).
 
Command? FILE 3-6 IN sales     To file consecutive messages in the scan
                               table.
 
Command? FILE SAVED agenda IN meetings
                               To file a saved message.
 
Command? FILE meetings sales   To file messages associated with a
                               particular filename in a second filename.
 
Command? FILE BEFORE 31 Aug IN meetings
                               To file messages you received before the 
                               specified date.
 
Command? FILE SINCE 1 Aug IN sales 
                               To file messages you received on and after
                               the date specified.
 
Command? FILE ON Apr 1 IN sept.report
                               To file messages you received on a 
                               specified date.
 
Command? FILE FROM C.ROBICHON IN budget
                               To file messages you received from a 
                               specified user name.
 
Command? FILE SUBJECT 'new budget' IN budget
                               To file messages you received with a
                               specified 'string' in the Subject field.
 
Command? FILE UNFILED IN action.items
                               To file messages you received not currently
                               filed under a specific filename.
 
Command? DISPLAY FILES         To obtain a list of your filenames
 
Command? SCAN filename         To list all messages associated with a 
                               file.
