                                   Insert
 
Insert is the editing Command that enables you to place new lines of
text or characters into your workspace.

It also allows you to INSERT BINARY files. See <I001> for details.
 
 
Command? INSERT     If a line number is not specified, all new text
                    will be placed at the end of the existing text.
 
Command? INSERT 61  To insert a line between two existing lines.
                    Envoy 100 will print the line number you specify
                    and wait for you to input text. It will keep giving
                    you line numbers until you type a period(.) and
                    RETURN or you run out of line numbers.
 
Command? INSERT 70 BY 5
                    To insert a specified line number with a specified
                    increment.
 
Inserting Characters

The plus sign (+) is used as the insertion symbol. The character(s) to
be inserted must be enclosed between + signs. The first + sign must be
placed under the character in front of which the insertion is to be 
placed.

The greater sign (>) inserts a space before the character immediately
above it. One or more can be used at one time.

To make character-by-character replacement in a line, enter the
replacement character directly underneath the character to be changed.
