I recently felt the need for some source code that would convert Arabic
numbers to Roman. I searched archie, and the SIMTEL archives to no
avail. I thought this most perplexing since such a function surely must be
common. The SIMTEL msdos archives administrator, Keith Petersen, advised
me to search garbo.uswas.fi. That turned up nothing, as well. However,
Prof Timo Salmi, garbo's pc administrator, mentioned that a disccussion
on this very topic had just occurred on comp.lang.pascal. A quick post
later, and I had all the source I could want. Thank you Arlin Collins for
sending me your collection of articles. Interestinly enough, the best
algorithm I received was one that came from garbo. If there were only
some way to index the contents of all the utilily collections out there.

So, I made this collection of C routines, and am offering it under the
name 'romancvt.zip' so that it will, hopefully be spotted in a perusal of
the SIMTEL archives, or turn up in an archie search.

The following MSDOS executables are included:

arabic.exe Converts Roman numbers to Arabic
roman.exe Converts Arabic numbers to Roman
