                <<<<WARNING>>>>>
If you use DrvSpace to change the configuration of your compressed drives, make sure that BootOpt is not running at the time. In fact, you should notuse BootOpt at all until DrvSpace has completely finished its work, includingrestarting your system immediately after you exit DrvSpace (as DrvSpacerecommends) to finalize the changes in your compressed drive configuration. See the file Read_me.1st, included with the program file for details.

To install BootOpt, place its three program files, BOOTOPT.EXE, BOOTOPT.HLP,and BOOTOPT.CNT, in the directory of your choice, then create a shortcut toBOOTOPT.EXE. When you start BootOpt, it displays your current MSDOS.SYSsettings. You can select the settings you want using BootOpt's checkboxes, list boxes, and radio buttons. For safety, your changes will not be applieduntil you click the Apply Settings button.
You may store the settings you select in a named profile by clicking theSave As button, entering a valid name, and clicking the OK button. To load aprofile, open the Profile Name list and select the one you want. To delete aprofile, first load it, then click the Delete button. Use the Find button tosee if any of your saved profiles match the current dialog box settings.
For information about any of the dialog box settings or commands, tab to therelated control and press F1 for context-sensitive Help, or point to a controlor its label with the mouse, click the right mouse button, then select "What'sthis?" from the context menu for pop-up help.
Command line switches let you use BootOpt in automatic mode. Upper/lowercase is ignored. These are the switches that BootOpt recognizes:
/RESTART tells BootOpt to restart the system. BootOpt will warn you that the system is about to restart and give you a chance to cancel unless you also use the /SILENT switch.
/PROFILE:[profile name] tells BootOpt to load the specified profile and use it to rewrite MSDOS.SYS. If you combine this switch with /RESTART and cancel the operation, MSDOS.SYS will not be rewritten. Do not place quotes around the required [profile name] argument, even if the name contains punctuation, embedded spaces, or other special characters. If used, this switch must appear last on the command line.
/SILENT tells BootOpt to perform the above without prompting you unless a critical error occurs.
/UNINSTALL tells BootOpt to remove its data from your system Registry in case you decide to remove the program from your system. If used, this switch overrides all others. Detailed instructions for removing BootOpt from your system are available in the online help.
