This file provides information for Shareware Distributors and Disk Vendors
who wish to distribute the Tack 3.8 package, including an extract from
the license agreement and suggested program descriptions and keywords.

                               Distribution

The complete license agreement is contained in the file LICENSE.TXT.

The following paragraph is an extract from the license agreement
regarding the distribution of the Shareware version of Tack:

    You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting
    donations, for any such copies, however made; and from distributing
    the software and/or documentation with other products (commercial or
    otherwise) without prior written permission, with one exception:
--> Disk Vendors approved by the Association of Shareware Professionals
--> are permitted to redistribute Tack, subject to the conditions in

                      Obtaining the Latest Version

Before distributing Tack please verify that you have the latest
version.  The latest version of Tack is always available on the
Tack Home page at www.ultranet.com/~ggrant/whiteperch.

The normal filenames for Tack 3.8 are:

    tack.exe  - Tack scientific data analysis program

If you require unique filenames for each release, please use the names

                         Suggested Description

Tack is a data analysis program primarily intended for electrophysiology.
It was written to read data files created by the data acquisition program
Patchit (also available from White Perch Software).  It can read data files
written in the following formats:
	Patchit
	Ninja
	Clampex (v. 5.0 -> v. 6.0)
	Fetchex (v. 5.0 -> v. 6.0).
	Axon Binary Format.
  Although intended for electrophysiology, Tack is of use to other users
of data acquisition systems.


                              Requirements

Requires DOS 3.1 or higher, 1 MB RAM, (2 MB recommended).  1 MB available
on disk.  Supported graphics display (most are).

                           Registration

US $50.00 to receive disk with latest version.
