0) Again more tools?
====================

After a long time working on a computer, I created several little tools
that make my life easier. Since there are now quite a few, I thought
that other people may be happy as well if they could use it.

1) Overview
===========

Bestfit : Try to fill floppydisks with less possible free space
Cdd : Change Drive and Directory at once
ClustSiz: Get the number of bytes per cluster for all your drives
Cycle   : Rename filenames cyclically
DirBut : Shows any files you mentioned besides the one you want to exclude
Fcdd : Find & Change Drive & Directory
FileTest: Deletes a given file with a specific size
Filter : Helps filtering out characters of an ascii-file
Flip : Just a little UNIX <-> DOS converter which flips the lf <-> cr lf
Incfind : For C-Programmers: Finds recursively every file that is #included
Index : Create indexfiles of your own directories just like on ftp-sites
Logdiary: Keeps track on every turning on/ off of your computer
Lookfor : Search a file along your PATH-variable
Quick Change Directory: Easily changing directory by jumping around the tree
SaveDate: Creates a batch that saves the current date before changing it
SavePath: Creates a batch to jump back to the current directory
SortDir : Sort the directory structure only by moving the files
Sorter : Sortes and manipulates in many ways your text-files
Splitme : Splits binary files in smaller parts and merges them back again
Subcall : Tells the functions each one is calling in a given source files
Tape : Calculates best fit to copy songs on a single side of a tape
Timex : Shows time a program needs to run, eg. for testing own algorithms
Wc : Calculates sum lines/ words/ characters and sum of each character
WriText : Prints colored text on a specified place on a screen, for batchfiles

2) Known Bugs
=============

Filter, Flip, Sorter and Wc will only work until a total number
of 2^15=32768 lines per file. Don't ask me why, but I'm working on it.

3) System Requirements
======================

The programs were compiled on a 486/ 66, MS-Dos under Win95,
however they should work on a "lower" PC as well.
However, for flip, incfind, logdiary, sorter, splitme, subcall, and
wc you might need a 386+ as well as go32.exe and csdpmi3b.zip.
Go32.exe is included in the package, you may find csdpmi3b.zip
in Simtel or via my homepage.

4) License
==========

This version of GrTool is emailware. That's all.
So please feel free to drop me any line you want.
I'd really appreciate it.

5) BBS Operators
================

Operators of electronic bulletin board systems (Sysops) are
encouraged to post Great-Tools for downloading by their users,
as long as all files are kept together.

6) Disclaimer
=============

instructions for use) are provided "AS IS" without warranty of

Ok, that's it for today, thanx for using my tools.
In case you might find some bugs, please feel free to drop me a line.

Ciao Roland :)

P.S.: I apologize for my bad English,
      it's been a while since I had it at school.
