Club 1 for Windows.
===================

Enhancements
============

Current sort order and database now shown on screen.

Surname field now doesn't change your capitalisation after the program's first attempt at properly capitalising the surname entered: allows for any odd capitalisation rules you may need. If this is needed in other fields, please let me know.

Right mouse menus added for Title and last 3 address lines. Allows you to save up to 10 most frequently items for each of these.

Membership Types & Lookups now selectable via a standard list box.

Selection of surname, membership type and lookups for reports now selectable via a standard list box, making choices for reports more reliable.

Ability to exclude almost all fields from your database, ensuring that you don't accidentally type something in fields you don't want to.

Optional suffix letter added for membership number.

3D look added to most parts of the program.

Report Writer (Crystal Reports) updated to latest version (4). Most reports enhanced; export facilities increased via report viewing window.

Data control updated to latest version (1.00d), allowing access to on-line help in viewing grid screen.

Extra renewal date options for 1, 3 & 6 months from date of joining added.

Two user definable renewal date options added: you can now define a renewal period in days, months, quarters or years.

Ability to set a default renewal date period. If this option is selected, Club will automatically complete the renewal date for you, saving typing or mouse clicking. The default option can be over-written or deleted.

Ability to set a default join date. If this option is selected, Club will automatically complete the join date field for you, saving typing or mouse clicking. The default option can be over-written or deleted.

Backup program now called more intelligently if using DOS 5 (sets the current program directory as the one to backup).

Bug Fixes
=========

Report formulae changed so that if no first name is entered, you no longer get extra blank spaces (or an extra comma if you've chosen surname first.)

Invoking a Search and then cancelling it without searching for anyone no longer prevents you from saving a new member.

Your club year now updates as intended.

Add a year to renew date no longer crashes the program if no renewal date currently entered.

Header now prints in various prints as originally intended.

Header able to be changed whenever you would expect this to be the case (previously wasn't always enabled for custom prints).

CTL3DV2.DLL added as this is required by Crystal Reports version 4. Setup program changed to make sure this is placed in the Windows\System directory.

Envelope sizes disabled when you shouldn't be able to select them in the Prints and Options screens.

Member count tidied up. Correctly updates when you change clubs.

Club now won't let you exit at critical moments (such as whilst you are entering a new member).

Club prevents you from doing 'wrong' things whilst browsing for membership types or lookups, preventing possible crashes.

Continuous labels now have the option to print at either 6 or 8 lines to the vertical inch. Some beta testers experienced a problem where Windows would set their printer for 8 lines to the inch, successfully fooling the print routine. If your continuous labels don't have 1.5" between one label and the next one, try clicking the 8 lines to the inch option. Sorry, but Crystal Reports (and other Windows Report Generators we have tried) doesn't give very good support for dot matrix printers.

Error trapping generally increased...

Search tidied up - won't allow you to search for a member that doesn't exist.

After deleting whilst in search mode, Club returns you to full membership list, reducing risk of error message.

Club won't let you delete the last member of a club, reducing risk of error message.

Backup now allows for the lack of user choice with DOS 6.x: doesn't ask you for the directory of the database to backup or the drive to backup to as DOS 6.x would ignore this anyway!
