Entering New Events

To enter new Events follow the following steps:
            1) Goto the Database Screen
            2) Click on 'New'
            3) Type in the event, date, and days you want to be notified before the event.
            4) Click on 'Save'

NOTES: * If you leave 'days before' blank a default of 10 days is chosen.
                * The date MUST be in the MM/DD/YYYY format or MM-DD-YYYY.
                   (ie May 5, 1995 = 05/05/1995)
                * If the word 'birthday' is entered into the event field (ie. Fred's Birthday)
then the age of the person will be calculated and shown in the upcoming
                   events.
                * If the word 'anniversary' is entered into the event filed (ie Wedding Anniversary)
then the number of years since the event will be calculated and shown in the
                   upcoming events.

Entering Monthly Reminders

If you would like to enter a monthly reminder follow the same steps as inputting a new event, but the date entered should include only the day of the month.
For example: If you want a reminder to pay the rent on every 1st of the month, type the date as '00/01/0000'. If you want a reminder on the 15 of every month, type '00/15/0000'.

Also see auto delete.

In this case, if you wish to alter your database you must run EVENTMAN.EXE.

Clear Feature

This feature is useful after completing an action for a given event. For example, say you have a reminder for your brother's birthday. You have the 'days before' property set to 14 days to allow you enough time for you to buy and send him a gift. At 10 days before his birthday you sent the gift. You may not want the event to show each day since you have already completed the task. However, you don't want to delete the event because you will want to be reminded of the event next year. You can CLEAR the event. This causes the CLEAR property to change to YES and the event will no longer be shown. However, after the current date passes event date the CLEAR property will be reset to NO so you can be warned next year.

NOTES on the Clear Function:
      1) If the clear property is set to YES the reminder will not be shown.
      2) If the clear property is set to NO the reminder will be shown if within the allotted
          days before.
      3) The clear property can be changed in two ways.
          a) From the Upcoming Events window select the event and then press the
              'Clear' button.
          b) From the Database Window select the event and then just click over the
'Cleared' property. If it is set to YES clicking will change it to NO and vice
              versa.

Auto Delete

If you turn this option to 'Yes' the event will be automatically deleted the day after of the event. This feature is useful for one time events such as appointments and meetings.

Sorting

You now can sort your event list either by the name of the event or the date of the event.
