                              Installation Instructions
                              -------------------------

  1. Grocer-eze requires Windows 3.1 or higher and uses less than 2M of
disk space. To install, run the program Grcrez2b.EXE from the
drive and directory in which it is located. If you are installing
from a diskette, use the Run command of the Windows 3.1 File menu
or the Windows 95 Start Button, and enter the file name
A:GRCREZ2B.EXE where "A" is the drive letter of your diskette.
Follow the instructions presented during the installation process.

  2. During the installation process, the file CTL3DV2.DLL will be installed
in your Windows SYSTEM directory. You must use the version provided or
      a higher level.

  3. Note that Grocer-eze provides you with a starter Shopping List installed
in the Grocer-eze directory called shopping.lst. You can use this as
a base from which to create your master Shopping List.

  4. When re-installing Grocer-eze over an existing version, the GRCREZ20.INI
file in the Windows SYSTEM directory and the shopping.lst sample Shopping
List file in the Grocer-eze directory will not be replaced if they exist
in order to preserve any current settings or data.

  5. To uninstall Grocer-eze, under Windows 95 select the Add/Remove Programs
item from within the Control Panel folder which is accessed from the
Settings item of the Start menu. Then from within the Install/Uninstall
tab setting, choose the Grocer-eze item from the program list and click
the Add/Remove button. Under Windows 3.1, choose the icon entitled
Uninstall Grocer-eze 2.0 from the Grocer-eze program group or execute
the program UNWISE.EXE which will be installed into your Grocer-eze
directory as specified by you during the install. Simply follow the
instructions provided. Do NOT delete the CTL3DV2.DLL file if it is
needed by other programs. If you are not sure whether it is needed or
      not, do not delete it.

Thank you for trying Grocer-eze. I hope you find it a useful and
worthwhile program to use. Grocer-eze can help you as much or
as little as you want when it comes time to go shopping. You
can use it to simply produce a customized printed list within
which you can check off items you need. Or you can enter pricing
and coupon detail information and Grocer-eze will manage your
coupons, estimate total costs, calculate savings from coupons,
select the best coupons, and perform a host of other supporting
functions which can help streamline your shopping experience.

While at first it may seem a bit much to create a computer
program to do something as menial as producing a shopping list,
there are some very real advantages.

As your base shopping list is built up, you create an inventory of
items to look at when making up a new list. You also get to see
what you put in the list the last time if you want. This cuts down
on the time it takes to create a list. In addition, seeing a list
of items in front of you on the screen provides a mental "tickler"
as to what you may need, helping prevent you from forgetting
something and having to make a special trip later to go get it.

To make it easier on you, Grocer-eze provides you with a starter
shopping list named shopping.lst. It is placed in your Grocer-eze
directory automatically when you install the product. You can
use it as a base to start from when creating your own master
shopping list saving you the time and effort of creating your
initial list from scratch.

If you want, you can also enter coupon information for items as
you accumulate the coupons. Then when you are making up your
shopping list, Grocer-eze will know for which items you have coupons
and can automatically select them for you. When you print your
list, it will tell you for which items you previously said you had
coupons. This way you don't have to dig through a pile of coupons
each time you make out a list. As long as you keep the information
Grocer-eze has on coupons accurate, Grocer-eze will do the digging for
you and let you know.

The actual selection of items is also very quick. Besides the
fact that you can re-use last week's list, selecting items is fast
and easy using the mouse. Another benefit is that you can print
your list out in the order you shop in the store. By entering an
aisle code for each item, your list will be in aisle order. This
can save you time in the store shopping, as you won't have to keep
scanning your list to see if something is on it for the aisle you
happen to be in. Also, you won't as easily miss something in an
aisle and have to go clear across the store again to find it.

Furthermore, assuming you enter pricing and coupon information,
Grocer-eze can give you both an estimate of the total cost of your
shopping list and the value of all the coupons you will be using.

Before actually printing the shopping list, you can preview it
and experiment with a large number of options which allow you
to customize the way your list will look when it prints. Moreover,
the printed shopping list itself is sometimes easier to read than
your handwriting (at least it's easier to read than my scribbling).

Remember, too, that Grocer-eze presents you with a variety of
options and settings which can be used to make Grocer-eze look and
behave the way you want. From the style, font and color of
displays, to the results of performing various commands, Grocer-eze
can be set up to accommodate your individual needs and preferences.

Give Grocer-eze a try and see if it doesn't make your shopping
easier, too.

If you like Grocer-eze, I would like to ask you to please register
it. Grocer-eze is distributed as shareware. No matter how or from
where you obtained it, Grocer-eze is not a free piece of software.
Shareware is a marketing method that allows you, the buyer,
to try a software package first, before you pay for it. This
gives you a chance to see if it works properly with your
computer equipment and software, and allows you some time to
try it out and see how you like it. If after a reasonable
evaluation period (usually about 30-60 days), you like Grocer-eze
and continue to use it, you are asked to register it.

The price to register and license shareware is generally much
lower than equivalent retail software. By distributing software
as shareware, the author saves a lot of money in marketing and
distribution costs. In addition, the intermediary middlemen,
the distributor and retailer, are eliminated from the marketing
process. This again saves money because the costly markups
which occur at the middleman level are eliminated also. These
cost savings are passed on to the buyer.

The CHECKREG.TXT or the CREDTREG.TXT files that came as part of
the Grocer-eze distribution package can be printed and used as a
registration form depending on whether you wish to pay by using a
check/money order or a credit card. See the PACKING.TXT file for
a list of files which should have come with this distribution
package.

Registering the software gives you the legal right to continue
to use Grocer-eze after the evaluation period is up. By
registering the software, you are provided with upgrade and new
release updates, maintenance support, and reduced prices on
future upgrades. Whether you decide to purchase or not, I am
always interested in suggestions for improving or enhancing
Grocer-eze. Please contact me by either of the methods available
for Technical Support as described in the Technical Support
Help topic of Grocer-eze if you would like. Thank you again
for your kind support.

You are free to re-distribute this software to others including BBS's,
shareware mirror sites and other collections of shareware, as long as
you do not modify it, you distribute it in its entirety including this
documentation, and you do not charge a fee for the software itself.
The group of files with which the software and documentation was
distributed includes registration forms which include pricing and
ordering information.
