WINDOWS VIDEO DRIVER / GRAPHICS MODE

Free Brush runs best in a True Color or Hi Color video display mode
(16-, 24- or 32-bit color graphics, with any of 32,000 - 4 billion
possible colors that can be displayed at once). The program will run
in a 256 color (8-bit color) graphics mode, but then there may be
occasional annoying color palette changes (and the program will run
much slower because of palette changes).

Free Brush will detect if your graphics card only displays 256 colors
and will suggest changing to a better mode (if possible with your card).

Run SETUP in Windows 3.1 if you need to change your current display mode
to another mode supported by your graphics card. See your Microsoft
Windows User Manual or your video card's documentation for details (my
Windows 3.1 User's Guide has a chapter "Maintaining Windows with Setup").
If you're lucky, your video card's drivers may be adjusted via the
Windows Control Panel, but many video cards don't offer this feature.

Windows95 users, choose - START BUTTON / Settings / Control Panel /
Display / Settings. There you can change your video display mode.
