You do not need to contact Ptolemy Services for permission to distribute PROVIDED THAT ANY DISTRIBUTION COMPLIES WITH ALL THE TERMS LISTED BELOW. For distribution outside these terms you must contact Ptolemy Services first to obtain written permission.

1) You must distribute exact unmodified copies of the product, including the installation program. You are not permitted to modify the product or installation program in any way. You are not permitted to produce a different installation program for the product. You may wrap the product archives in an outer archive or installation program if you need to include extra files or instructions relating to your distribution.

2) If you distribute copies on floppy disk or similar low-capacity media (10Mb per physical media or less), you are not permitted to charge for the distribution other than a sum not exceeding US$10 (or equivalent in local currency) for handling plus the actual cost value of the media. If you make any charge for the distribution or media (or both) you must also provide a prominent notice on your advertising, publicity, order forms, the disk labels themselves, and other promotional material that the charge you make covers only the cost of the media and a small handling charge. You must also include the following notice on the media labels:

Jade 2 Copyright (C) 1995-1997 Ptolemy Services. All Rights Reserved.
Phone +44 (0) 1962 852644, Email: sales@ptolserv.com

Acrobat (R) Reader Copyright (C) 1987-1996 Adobe Systems, Incorporated. All Rights Reserved. Adobe and Acrobat are trademarks of Adobe Systems, Incorporated and may be registered in certain jusridictions.

If possible, you must replace the text "(C)" and "(R)" in the notice above by the conventional printed forms (that is, the letter enclosed by a complete circle) of the Copyright and Registered symbols respectively.

3) If you distribute copies on CD-ROM or similar high capacity media (over 10Mb per physical media) you are permitted to charge a sum not exceeding US$100 (or equivalent in local currency) for the media, providing that the media contains at least 4 products from other vendors. If the media contains 3 or fewer other products, you must treat the distribution as falling under all the terms detailed in 2) above. If you make any charge for the distribution on high capacity media, you are requested (but not required) to provide a prominent notice on your advertising, publicity, order forms, the media itself, and other promotional material that the charge you make covers the cost of collating the collection and does not include any registration and license fees that might be required by product authors or copyright holders to continue using the products. You are also requested, (but not required) to include the notice supplied in 2) above on the media labels.

4) Bulletin board operators and Internet service providers are permitted to charge normal connect-time charges (but not "premimum rates" or other higher than normal charges) to access their archives, provided that they have a prominent notice stating that some products contained in their archives may require registration and license fees to be paid to the product authors or copyright holders to continue using the product.

5) If you run a Bulletin board, Web site or FTP Site but make no charge yourself for access to your archives you are requested (but not required) to provide a prominent notice stating that some products contained in your archives may require registration and license fees to be paid to the product authors or copyright holders to continue using the products.

6) If the product is held on a computer running any version of Microsoft Windows, MS-DOS, PC-DOS, OS/2 or similar x86 operating system, you must ensure that the computer used to create media images or containing the product archives is protected by high quality anti-virus software with regular signature updates. This requirement does not apply if the computer used is itself incapable of being infected by a virus that can infect MS-DOS, PC-DOS or MS-Windows programs.

7) The single file archive version may only be distrubuted on a Bulletin Board System, Web Site, FTP site or CD-ROM. On any Internet connected system, you should provide a link to Adobe's web or FTP site, otherwise you must include a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader 2.1 or later for both Windows 3.1x and Windows 9X elsewhere in the archive or CD-ROM. In all other cases you must distribute the disk image version.
