BibleDatabase Ver 2.1.0

IF YOU ARE UPGRADING
================

If you are UPGRADING from a previous version of BibleDatabase FIRST UNINSTALL THE PREVIOUS VERSION. To do this, Click on the "Start" menu button. Select "Settings" and then "Control Panel". Now click on "Add/Remove Programs". Once the Add/Remove Programs Properties window appears select "BibleDatabase" and then click the "Add/Remove" button. Confirm you wish to delete BibleDatabase.

DON'T PANIC
========
The Uninstaller will ONLY remove the BibleDatabase programme and NOT any modules and/or Prayer Diary entries you have on your computer. You will not need to re install any modules you already have.

NEW IN VERSION 2
==========

Streamlined Translation Database Index

In Version 2.X.X file access and handling of the Translation Database index file "Translations.txt" has been completely rewritten. In previous versions an index file was created for each group of modules e.g. one for Bibles, one for Dictionaries and so on. With Version 2.X.X this has been streamlined into the single file "Translations.txt". See File Formats for more.

The effect of rewriting the modules for the Translation Database Index is increased stability particularly when many Bible Translations are installed.

Interrupt Searches

A STOP button has been added to the main form. You can interrupt any search at any time.

New Bible Precedence/Order Module

The Bible Precedence Module, accessible from the Options menu has been rewritten. It is much more sophisticated than it's predecessor and allows for far more functionality. Modules may also be ignored. This is particularly handy in Multi Bible Mode when many Bibles are installed and you want to temporarily not see a specific Bible but don't want to uninstall it.

Language Editor

Included with this version is a simple language editor to enable you to put text in your own language into the Books of the Bible drop down boxes.

Module Relocator

BibleDatabase allows you to choose another folder on your drive for the top level module folder. However, there are two problems here:

In the "Advanced" tab on the "Tools" menu, if you don't get the path set up correctly the first time, BibleDatabase will not open until it finds the module(s) in the path you specified. This is somewhat of a catch 22 situation, since if you forgot what the folder name is BibleDatabase won't work! Since these settings are stored in the Windows Registry, it is all but impossible for the average user to repair the error. Re-installing BibleDatbase also does not help since ri installation does not delete the current registry settings.

In the "Advanced" tab on the "Tools" menu, there is no facillity to change the current drive. This is problematic if your drive has only a limited amount of space left.

The Module Relocator overcomes both of the above problems since it is a seperate program and operates independantly from BibleDatabase. When you change the Drive and/or folder settings BibleDatabase changes the registry keys accordingly. The module relocator will optionally move all the modules from the old drive/folder location to the new as well as preserve the directory structure below the top level Module folder.
