----------------------------------------
General Product Information:
Product Name:	DATA WIZ	("the software")
  Release Date:	April 18, 2001
  Version Number:	4.0
Platform: WIN 9.x, Me, NT, 2000
  Copyright:	2001 First Idea Software
  Other System Requirements:
This software has no special system requirements. If your computer is capable of
running one of the operating systems listed beside Platform above, it will be
capable of running the software.

License Information:
Data Wiz is distributed either as a commercial demo, or as fully licensed
software. The demo has no time expiry, but it is limited to 10 uses. Each time
you use it, the program will tell you how many trials it has left. After the
trial expires, you will be unable to run the program anymore until you purchase
and install the licensed version. Other than limiting the number of uses, the
demo version is identical in functionality to the licensed version.

Data Wiz costs only $75 (U.S.) per user.
Multi-license discounts are available, as described on the registration form.

Distribution Rights and License Agreement:
You are free to distribute the demo setup executable without limitation except
that you may not alter the file contents in any way. This README file must be
included. If you purchased the licensed version from First Idea Software, you
may NOT distribute this copy to any other party. You are licensed to install the
software on a maximum of 2 computers that are owned by you, provided the 2
copies are not used simultaneously. For example, you may wish to install the
software on a computer at work, and on one at home. This is permissible as long
as the two installations are not being used by two different people. You may
not, however, install the software on two computers in the same location to be
used by two different people. To do this, you must purchase two licenses.

Installation Issues:
The software uses the Windows Installer service to ensure a smooth installation
and removal process. Depending on which setup file you received or downloaded,
the setup may or may not include the update to the Windows Installer service. If
your computer is running Windows 2000, you do not need to worry, because the
Windows Installer service is built into Windows 2000. If you are running Windows
9.x or Windows NT, the Windows Installer service may need to be updated.
The setup routine will automatically detect if the correct version of the
Windows Installer service is installed on your computer. If it is not, the setup
program will update your computer if it is included. If the setup file you
received does not include the correct update for your operating system, you can
download it from the download page at http://www.firstideasoftware.com.

Description of the Software:
Data Wiz will create Visual Basic DAO code to exactly duplicate a Microsoft Jet
database. There are other tools available that perform this task with varying
degrees of success. None that we are aware of, though, does it as precisely and
completely as FIS Data Wiz. Data Wiz examines the table structure of your
database, and creates a text file or a standard module with one procedure to
create each table you specify, plus a procedure to create the indexes, and
another one to create the relationships. It precisely recreates all fields,
properties, indexes, and relationships, including defaults and field validation
rules. The only thing that version 4 does not do is map table validation rules
and field descriptions. These features will be added to a later update that will
be available for free to registered users.

Data Wiz runs either as a standalone application, or as an Access add-in. The
setup program includes an add-in for both Access 97 and Access 2000. To install
the add-in when installing Data Wiz, ensure that you select the appropriate
version of the add-in for the version of Access you are running. Then, run the
add-in configuration utility by selecting the icon from the First Idea Software
program folder on your Start Menu. Select "First Idea Software Database
Duplication Wizard" and select "Display in First Idea Software Add-In Manager"
and/or "Display on Access Add-Ins Menu".

Issues related to removing the software:
1. If you have configured the add-in to appear on the Microsoft Access Add-Ins
menu, the Add/Remove Programs control panel applet may not remove these items.
Therefore, if you wish to uninstall Data Wiz, you should run the configuration
utility and clear the "Display on Access Add-Ins Menu" box before uninstalling
the application.

2. Using the Add/Remove Programs control panel applet is the recommended way to
remove Data Wiz. Depending on the configuration of your machine, however, this
may unregister the DAO360.dll in Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\DAO. This may cause problems with other applications (including Microsoft
Office 2000) that use DAO 3.6. The problem occurs because the Microsoft Office
2000 setup program does not seem to register this as a shared file in every
case. If you have Microsoft Office 2000 and remove Data Wiz, you can resolve
this problem simply by clicking the Start button, choosing Run, and running the
following command:

Regsvr32.exe /v "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.dll"

You may need to change the path depending on the configuration of your computer.
If you do not have regsvr32 on your computer, it can be obtained from the
following website:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q161/9/83.ASP

In extremely rare circumstances, the Windows Add/Remove program may actually
delete dao360.dll. This did not happen in our testing, but if it occurs on your
computer, you can reinstall it either by re-running the Office 2000 setup
program, or you can obtain the setup file required to reinstall Jet only from
the following website:
