Tropi, Unit Conversion Database for MS Access 97
Copyright CAS Software.
Written by Costas Anagnostopoulos

REQUIREMENTS
------------
At least a 486 with Win95 and MS Access 97 installed.

DESCRIPTION
-----------
This database was first created in 1994 for private use, on an early
version of MS Access. In the beginning it included only the basic
Units mostly used by engineers like me, e.g. Area, Length, Pressure
and Power.
It stayed like that for years when I decided to take full advantage
of Access 97 new features, give the database a better look and add as
many Unit Categories as I could.

The result is now called "Tropi" and includes Acceleration, Angle,
Area, Conductivity, Density, Dynamic Viscosity, Energy, Enthalpy,
Flow, Force, Kinematic Viscosity, Length, Mass, Power, Pressure,
Temperature, Velocity and Volume Categories.

INSTALLING and RUNNING Tropi
----------------------------
Installation is as simple as unzipping the "tropi.zip" file in a new
folder in your Hard Disk and open the "tropi.mde" file by MSAccess97.
You can either double click the tropi.mde file from within the
Windows Explorer window or lunch MS Access97 first, choose "MDE files"
and select "Tropi" from the "Open" window.

HOW TO USE
----------
You simply choose a "Unit Category" from the List box on the left,
the Unit you want converted from the List box in the middle and the
Unit you want to be returned from the List box on the right.
Furthermore, type the value you want converted in the Text box on the
left.
The result will appear on the Text box on the right after clicking any
Text box or List box of the main window.

There's a "Help" option which can be accessed any time that the main
window is open.

=================

The "Tropi" is offered as Freeware.
I'm not a professional programmer and as I said before, the whole thing
started as a tool for private use.
So, I'm more than sure that there's much room for improvements which
will be made as soon as my free time permits it.

Your comments will help a lot in this regard, so please let them come
no matter whether you are an experienced Access developer or a simple
user.

Before closing this "readme.txt" I'd like to thank all of you who have
downloaded the "Tropi" and have given it a try.
