                  Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is DriveWatcher? What does DriveWatcher do?

A. DriveWatcher is a very simple disk utility that displays free
space for selected drives on the System Tray (one icon per
drive). Due to its simple nature, DriveWatcher is quite small
(under 200K) and also uses simple, straight-forward code to
perform its tasks (though due to the additional setup files
and run-time libraries--which you probably already have on your
computer--the installation is actually around 1.5 Mb).

Q. What is the system tray? Why is it better then the task list?

A. The system tray is the small box (usually located on the bottom
right of the screen) that holds the time and usually small icons
representing special applications that use this area.

Q. How do I choose the drives to display as icons?

A. Right-Click on an existing Drive Icon (there will always be one
while DriveWatcher is running) and choose Options from the menu.
Then, click on the little box (checkbox) next to the drives for
which you wish to display icons. Any box that contains a check
will have an icon in the system tray.

Q. How do I choose the program that runs when I double-click
on the Drive Icons?

A. Right-Click on an existing Drive Icon (there will always be one
while DriveWatcher is running) and choose Options from the menu.
Then, choose an item from the list of Applications to Run, type
the name of an application (with the full path and command-line
arguments) or click the button labeled "..." and choose the
application to run. You may use %d to represent the drive letter
that was double-clicked. For example %d:\ will translate to C:\
for the C drive. As an example, the Open Drive selection is actually
"Explorer.exe %d:\".

Q. Look, this program just ain't workin' right. I think I found a
bug. How do I report them or get technical assistance?

A. If you require technical assistance, please send an e-mail to
help@DevWorks.com or visit the DevWorks WWW page at
