          Test Drive True Test Writer in Microsoft WORD
                       Nine-Patch Software

1.  Place TTWW200.DOT in a folder, (C:\TTWW200\, as an example).
    a.  From email, click Save Attachments | Select All.
    b.  From a floppy, drag the TTWW200 folder to the hard disk. 
    c.  From a ZIP file, unzip within the TTWW200 folder:
        TTWW200.DOT                  Template file powered by macros. 
        BioSci3.doc                  A 26 item sample file.
        pad-file.xml                 Description and Warranty. 
        Test Drive True Test Writer  This file in DOC.
        Test Instructions.doc        Alternative & traditional scoring.
    d.  Then copy TTWW200.DOT to your template folder.
    e.  Or right click TTWW200.DOT to create a shortcut.
    f.  And drag the shortcut to your desktop screen.

2.  Click on TTWW200.DOT or the shortcut icon.
    a.  It opens as a normal WORD document 
    b.  It asks permission to open with macros:  YES
    c.  It fails to open: Reset security to Medium.  (on XP, 
        Tools|Options|Security|Macro Securiy; on 2000, 
        Tools|Macros|Security Level) 

3.  Save the active document with your choice of name (Demo1.doc in 
    folder TTWW200, for example).

4.  Click IMPORT|BioSci3.doc.  Examine the document.

5.  Click FORMAT and produce a 26-question test in two versions 
    located in folder TTWW200.

You are now ready to use True Test Writer.  In general,
 
   1. Import old test bank files or enter new questions. 

   2. Set font for input table and test bank table. 

   3. Save the file to the name for the formatted test. 

   4. Format two versions of the test. See Test Instruction.Doc for
      sample instructions for alternative and traditional scoring.

Documents can be saved as active or passive.  Active documents contain the TTWW toolbar, which adds about 400 KB to the document.  Click SaveAsItems to save only the items to a passive document.  

Click on an old active document to work on it again.  If this fails on 
your system, click on the template and then import the document (active 
or passive).  All passive documents and original version test banks 
must be imported. Save frequently.
