WARANTY DISCLAIMER
==================
There are no warranties of any kind. You are using this program at your own risk.

WHAT IT DOES?
=============
MailGate serves to enable unlimited number of people to connect to SMTP and POP3 servers and transmit/download e-mail trough one computer only. This means if you have a dial-up connection that all people connected in local LAN are permitted to send/receive their e-mail.

HOW IT WORKS?
=============
MailGate has a local database of it's users. This database is kept in the registry. For each user MailGate keeps names of his SMTP and POP3 servers. As soon as a request from some users comes MailGate looks for the user's SMTP/POP3 server names and connects him to the corresponding mail server on the net. The program is consisting of two executable files:

 MailGate.Exe 	MailGate program
 SetupCli.Exe MailGate setup utility - should be distributed to all mail gate users.

HOW TO SETUP MailGate?
======================
Let's call computer that runs MialGate ServComp and CliComp all client computers that uses MailGate to access e-mail.

The client setup utility called SetupCli.EXE permits each user to setup their database entries in the MailGate programs users database. This utility sends to MailGate program names of SMTP and POP3 servers to which all the requests from CliComp are connected later during mail request. In order to finish set up process, you need to know the ServComp's name or address and POP3 / SMTP computer names.

Local mail program (Outlook, Eudora...) should be set up as for direct access to e-mail account. The only difference is that the SMTP and POP3 server names shuld be the ServComp computer name. The POP3 account username and password should remain the same.

From now on, if the ServComp is connected to the Net, all users (who have set up their account on MailGate) are capable of sending and receiving mail.

The CliComps's computer names in MailGate's database could be accessed and modified directily from the MailGate program, if needed.

MIN. CONFIGURATION
==================
- Any computer that runs a Microsoft 32 bit operating system (Win95, Win98, WinNT 4.0...)
- TCP/IP connection to the Internet from the machine running MailGate
- Usage of hardware resources is minimal. If you are planing to connect
  very big number of people, please consider that each user, while
  connected, consumes ~100 K of server's RAM.
