NOTE: The local machine on which Electro! operates MUST HAVE the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), or Java Development Kit (JDK, which includes the JRE) installed. The JRE need NOT be on a remote machine on which Electro! creates, or re-assembles file segments. The JRE can be downloaded from this URL: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre Please install it on your system BEFORE running Electro!

Electro!, version 2.0
---------------------
The following improvements have been made to Electro! since the release of version 1.1:

1. Elimination of the need to open java.exe each time a user starts the program. A user will only have to find and open java.exe again if its location changes.

2. Electro! now works with Hidden/System files, and long file/directory names.

3. Elimination of the Copy, Copy To, and Move menu choices, which worked, but were not of MUCH value.

4. Improved the coordinated function of the Drive, Dir, List, and Text boxes when selecting files to work with.

5. Added a "Tip" to let a user know that only a file NAME should be entered into the Text Box, NOT a path; that the path should be selected using the Directory List Box. This ensures that only valid directories will be used, and eliminates the need to code for a bunch of unknowns. Other tips were also added to gently guide a user through the Electro! experience.
