Summary
-------

FileSplit is a utility to split large files into smaller files so
that they can be easily copied to floppy disks or transferred via
e-mail. Files can be split directly from Windows Explorer by
right clicking on any file and selecting Split File.

Features:

- Easy to use interface.
- Fast 32-bit file splitting.
- Batch file generation so files can be merged without
  FileSplit.
- Preserves all file information including file time, date, and
  attributes.
- Calculates CRC signature to detect file corruption when
  merging files.
- Split multiple files in one operation.

- New Auto Update feature to check for new releases of FileSplit
  on the Internet. To access, click on 'Check for Update' in
  FileSplit under Start Menu...Programs.
- Various bug fixes.

Evaluation Period
-----------------

You are entitled to a 30-day trial period so that you may evaluate
this product. If you continue to use program after the trial
period, you must register. If you do not register after the trial
period, you must discontinue use and remove the FileSplit software
from your computer. (To remove FileSplit, follow the directions
under Uninstalling below.)

Registration is $10.00 (US dollars)

To register, go to http://www.partridgesoft.com/order on the Web
or in the About in FileSplit, click Print Order Form and follow
the directions on screen.

If you already own a registered version of FileSplit, enter the
registration number that you have into the About box.

Installation
------------

1. Extract the archive using a ZIP decompression utility into a
   temporary directory. (C:\Windows\Temp is recommended).
2. Run SETUP.EXE. The SETUP program will lead you through the
   setup process.
3. After SETUP completes, you can safely delete the files in the
   temporary directory.

Uninstalling
------------

1. Click the Start Menu. Point to Settings, then Control Panel.
2. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
3. Under the Install/Uninstall tab, select FileSplit in the list
   and click Add/Remove.
4. You will be asked if you want to uninstall FileSplit. Click
   Yes.
