Purpose of the program:
-----------------------
Idem is a software utility that enables to automate file synchronization and replication. Idem secures critical data duplicating from one computer location to another. It is a good solution for "mirroring" important folders from a Windows NT server toward another.
You can use it too for synchronizing a laptop with network folders.
Idem is distinguishable from other expensive mirroring or clustering products by its ability to fully preserve Macintosh filenames and structures stored on a Windows NT server.
Main features:
- runs on 95/98/NT4/NT2000
- supports UNC folder names
- can include sub-folders in mirroring
- fully preserves Macintosh filenames (with peculiar characters like /, \, etc.) and structures (data+resource) stored on a Windows NT server
- can mirror opened files using it with the third party product Open File Handler (Swat Consulting Inc.)
- can check and copy the files and folders attributes and security informations (DACL permissions)
- can rename moved Macintosh files, substituting a dash to the forbidden Windows characters in their names (/, \, etc.) and adding a Windows extension
- can run as a Windows NT Service
- archive mirroring operations in Log files
- languages: English, French, Portuguese
