1. Product
=========================

Keep-It is like a cross between Winzip (on steroids) and a revision control system
(without the check-in/check-out chore). Keep-It archives are really that; an archive
of everything you've ever done, without taking up office (disk) space.

Keep-It integrates with the Windows explorer to provide a new file type: a Keep-It
archive. Archives behave like folders; you can drag-and-drop (or cut-and-paste)
files and folders (items) into and out of them. When you add items to an archive,
you add a revision of the item. Archives can be updated with a single click, causing
new revisions to be added. Because of Keep-It's explorer integration, you can
browse revisions, examine, and restore them using normal explorer
idioms (drag-and-drop, etc.).

Keep-It maintains hundreds of revisions in a tiny amount of disk space. By only
storing differences (and compressing these), Keep-It provides an efficient on-line
repository of all your work (past and present).

See http://www.keep-it.com/ for more details, demos, and features.

2. Supported hardware/software
=========================

Keep-It will install and run with any 32-bit version of MS Windows. Keep-It is a shell name
space extension and has been tested with the following combination of system software

OS/Explorer	Classic Explorer	IE4	IE5
Windows 95	OK		OK	OK
Windows 98	NA		OK	OK
Windows NT4	OK		OK	OK

Keep-It has not been tested with NT3.51 with the shell update pack. Keep-It is not
qualified fully for use with Window 2000 (RC1).

If your PC runs any of the above OS/Explorer combinations, Keep-It will function without
problem on it. Keep-It is not hardware dependant in any way.

===============
3. Installation
===============

Keep-It is contained in a self-installing archive (normally called Keep-It.exe). Open
(double click on) this archive, and the installation routine will ask some questions
while installing Keep-It.

You do not have to remove any previous version to install Keep-It 1.0, although you
may be asked to reboot at the end of the installation process.

===============
4. Uninstalling
===============

Keep-It can be uninstalled from the 'Add/Remove Programs' control panel applet
(found in the control panels - Start/Setting/Control Panel).

Keep-It is identified as 'Keep-It 2000', and may be uninstalled by simply selecting
this software from the installed software list.
