wBrowse is a simple and fast utility for browsing fixed-width-font text files. It has extensive features that allow the easy identification of differences among many files. For example, comparing reporting results from similar reports or finding and showing the differences between two versions of a text file such as a library and a modified copy of a source module.

wBrowse is not an editor. One of the advantages of using wBrowse rather than an editor is that it does not lock the open files at all. These files may be read or used by other programs without impact.

wBrowse is oriented towards fast keyboard access and is designed for a combination of keyboard and mouse usage. The search and compare functions are all mapped to hotkeys on the left side of a keyboard. The movement and scrolling functions are all situated around the number pad. The hotkeys for the searching functions, movement and scrolling, and opening and closing windows are Windows standard.

A simple copy to print function is implemented for report users working with preformatted fixed-width-font reports with embedded printer control characters. Windows printing is not implemented in this version.
