PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Credit Card Payment Analyzer program, is used to calculate the payoff date for a single or multiple credit card debts. To use this program, please input the NEW BALANCE TOTAL and ANNUAL PERCENTAGE RATE from the card's statement into the outstanding balances section of the program.

For example if the total debt to a credit card is $1250.00 and the annual percentage rate is 19.00%, then at the balance column of Credit Card 1 enter 1250 and under interest column of Credit Card 1 enter 19

If there are multiple interest rates on the same credit card, then itemize the amounts based on the interest rate. For example if the $1250.00 amount as mentioned above has two interest rates associated with it i.e. the finance charge on the $1050.00 portion is 19.00% and the finance charge on the remaining $ 200.00 is 9.9%, then at the balance column of Credit Card 1 enter 1050 at the interest column of Credit Card 1 enter 19, at the balance column of Credit Card 2 enter 200 and under interest column of Credit Card 2 enter 9.9

The program will average out the interest. For the example above, it will multiply 1050 by 19 and multiply 200 by 9.9 Upon completion of the multiplication, it will sum the total and divide it by the total debt of 1250. The corresponding average interest will be 17.54%

If you pay a constant payment every month, then click on the Constant Payment radio button and enter the amount accordingly.

If you pay minimum payment every month, then click the Minimum Payment radio button. Most of the credit card companies expect a minimum payment, which usually is 2% of the NEW BALANCE TOTAL. That would be $25.00 for a $1250.00 balance. In no case shall the monthly payment be less than the amount shown on the No Less Than input box. The Minimum Payment percentage and No less than amounts can be found on the credit card company's terms of credit booklet. (The default values are the most common ones used)
