Gedpage: Family Tree Web Page Builder

To obtain the most current version of Gedpage, please visit:
       http://www.frontiernet.net/~rjacob/gedpage.htm

Gedpage will build your family tree web page as a set of HTML files from
your standard GEDCOM file. The format is that of a Family Group Sheet
commonly used by genealogists, so it is familiar, and easy to read. You
will be able to choose whether you want a colored background, or a graphic
background; the color, or image for your background; the colors of text
used on your page. Gedpage will also allow you to have a link to your home
page. Gedpage supports GENDEX!

To install Gedpage:
Run the Install.exe program that comes in the Gedpage distribution file.

To build your tree:
From your genealogy program, create a GEDCOM file, and put it into your
Gedpage directory.
Run Gedpage. Type the name of your GEDCOM file into the box labeled GEDCOM
File Name. You can modify any of the other attributes for your page at
this time as well. Click your mouse on the Create Page button. A message
box will appear telling you when it is finished. Click the Ok button.
You can exit Gedpage now. Your files will be in the HTML subdirectory in your
Gedpage directory. You can now install these files on your internet server
(if you do not know how to do this, contact you Internet Service Provider).
The filenames will all need to be lower case, or they wont work properly.
To take advantage of the GENDEX feature, you should go to:
           http://www.gendex.com
and follow the directions there. Gendex allows your information to be
entered into a searchable database which includes over a million
individuals, and is linked back to the submitter's web page.

If you have a problem, please read the documentation. There is also a
FAQ at my site at:
http://www.frontiernet.net/~rjacob/faq.htm

If you are still having problems, please email me at:
         rjacob@frontiernet.net

If Gedpage bombed out while trying to create your page, please send me a copy
of your GEDCOM file. Every GEDCOM file is different, and some are bound to
cause problems for Gedpage, but these problems will be fixed, as I become
aware of them.
