Function Summary:

HTML Pix is yet another application that creates a HTML index of a folder of images, offering the user a convenient method of generating thumbnail contact sheets. The thumbnails can be reduced to your choice of sizes and provides a hyperlink to the actual file.

Updates since last version:

Total redesign. New code, new functions everywhere. The old version just wasn't meeting my needs anymore...

Description:

There must be a hundred of these things out there, but to date I haven't been able to find a freeware one that offers proper configurability. So I made this.

Use the wizard to step through the process. It's pretty user-friendly.

Requirements:

The VB 6.0 Runtimes and assorted files, all included in the download package. If by chance you just got the .EXE from someone, download the latest version for the full package. And although not required, high color or better is suggested for the user interface.

Licence:

Bill Reid's HTML Pix is offered as freeware to non-profits and individuals. This means that although I retain the copyright to this program, you are free to use and distribute it without making payment of any sort to me - IF you are using the product to support a non-profit organization or if you are using it for personal noncommercial products. In other words, if you're trying to make money with it, you owe me some. You can acquire a single license for $5 US funds or negotiate a reasonable site license for an organization. Please contact the author for payment options via e-mail at the address above.

In either scenario, you are not licensed to resell the product by itself or as part of a larger package. CD-ROM distributors should contact the author for permission to redistribute in a commercial situation. Unauthorized distribution is a violation of applicable laws.

I would appreciate your comments by email. Email is cheap enough that it won't inconvenience you and I'd just like to know how many people actually got some use out of this program.

The latest version of this application is always available at my home site, which is currently located at http://billreid.cjb.net. If for some reason you can't find this page (meaning I've moved), do a search for the title at a major search site - I will keep this page active as long as I have the means to do so. Or in a pinch, use the (hopefully) permanent bill_reid@bigfoot.com address.

Support Policy:

As I receive no payment for this program, I guarantee no support of any kind. You may send questions via email, and I will attempt to answer them at my leisure, but use of this program in no way guarantees technical support of any kind. Registered users will receive technical support to the best of my ability, but even this support will be limited to what I feel is adequate and fair. I have a real job, y'know. :)

Disclaimer:

I do not guarantee (expressly or implied) that this program is suitable for your use or free from bugs. Every effort has been made to properly test it for my own use, but this is not to be seen as a statement of quality. You use this program at your own risk; I will not be held responsible for any losses incurred as a direct or indirect result of using this program.

As a further note, I readily admit that there are certain known bugs that have not been worked out due to the author's own laziness. The program may crash if you enter a character value when the field asks for a numeric one. Be forewarned.
