Introduction:

ImageView is a thumbnail organizer and image viewer. Currently ImageView only supports the following  image formats: Bitmap (.bmp), icon (.ico), cursor (.cur), GIF (.gif) files, and JPEG (.jpg) files. This is application is freeware.

The user interface is self-explanatory. There are three sections to the application: The Folder View, Thumbnail View and the Image View. To see this help file while running the application, simply press the F1 key.



Folder View:

Graphical tree representation of all drives connected to the PC. Works like Windows Explorer, click on the plus signs to view subfolders and on the minus to close subfolders. By right clicking on a folder or using the windows menu (when the Folder View has the focus) offers a drop down menu with three options: New Folder, Rename Folder and Delete Folder. 

The New Folder option will add a new folder at the sub-folder level of the clicked folder. The folder will be named New Folder. To change the folder name, right click on it and select Rename Folder.

The Rename Folder option lets you type a new folder name. Once the name is typed, simply hit the return key or click away from the text box.

The Delete Folder option will delete whatever folder has the focus and all of its sub-folders.



Thumbnail View:

After selecting a folder in the Folder View containing images of the supported format, the thumbnail view will appear with shrunken versions of the images. To select a thumbnail simply click on it. To select multiple thumbnails, simply click on them while holding down the Ctrl key. By right clicking on any of the thumbnails or using the windows menu (when the Thumbnail View has the focus) offers a drop down menu with seven options: Display Image(s), Rename Image, Delete Image(s), Copy Image(s), Move Image(s), Add Image(s) and Print Thumbnail Sheet.

The Display Image(s) option will open selected images in the Image View at full size (double clicking on the image directly will offer the same result.) 

The Rename Image option lets you rename the image. Once the name is typed, simply hit the return key or click away from the text box.

The Delete Image(s) will delete selected images permanently (the application will ask for individual confirmations for each selected image.)

The Copy Image(s) option will copy all selected images to a folder or your choice. A dialog box will appear prompting you to select the destination folder.

The Move Image(s) option will do the same thing as the Copy Image option but wont retain images in the original folder.

The Add Image(s) option will import images into the current folder. A dialog box will appear prompting you to select the images to import (to select multiple files, simply hold down the Ctrl key while selecting them.)

Finally the Print Thumbnail Sheet option will print the visible portion of the thumbnail sheet.




Image View:

The Image View offers a full size, half size or double size representation on the selected image(s). You will have on Image View pane per image. By right clicking on the image or using the windows menu (when the Image View has the focus) offers a drop down menu with two options: Zoom and Print Image.

The Zoom option changes the image size to full size, half size or double size.

The Print Image option will print the visible portion of the selected Image View pane.




Uninstall information:

To remove ImageView from your system, simply access the control panels Add/Remove Programs and highlight ImageView then click the remove button.
