storage on durable media such as CD-R and is intended to be useable many
years from now, however there can be no guaranty of compatibility with
all future releases of web browsers.

Features:

The program archive.exe will extract information about a collection of jpeg images
from one of six possible types of catalog files:

    1. A plain text file, with tabs separating the data fields

    2. A ThumbsPlus V3 database (*.tDB) (through ThumbsPlus V3.30)
V4.0 users should export database as a *.csv file (see next).

    3. A ThumbsPlus V4.0 Exported *.csv file. Export Keywords, Annotations,
        and Write field headers.

    4. A Media Library file (*.plb) created by Ritz Photo Manager 1.1a
or Broderbund Print Shop Photo Organizer.
(or Photo Showcase by Digital Now, Inc.)

    5. A Gallery file (*.GAL) created by Adobe Photo Deluxe 3.0
(or EasyPhoto Organizer by Storm Technology Inc.)

    6. A PhotoRecall (PhotoRecall.mdb) database.

The output of archive.exe consists of:

    1. An HTML file for viewing with any JavaScript enabled web browser
(e.g., Netscape 3.x, 4.x, or MS Internet Explorer 4.x). This file, named
archive.htm, contains the index of all images and their associated information.

    2. A tab-delimited ASCII text file, with a column header row, containing the list
of all image source files and their associated information.

    3. For each image in the collection, a jpeg file scaled to fit the browse window
and a 96x96 pixel jpeg file used as a thumbnail in the search results view.

Note: The file named texture.jpg file is copied to the same destination directory
as the archive.htm file. You may also substitute another background texture
of your choice, instead of the one supplied, by naming your file texture.jpg,
or omit this file if a plain white background is acceptable.

If you select the archive.htm file as the catalog file, a window will open
to allow editing of the information fields associated with each image.
The HTML file is the source of data and the modified data is written back
to archive.htm when you click the Update button. It is recommended that
you view archive.htm with your web browser while you are editing the data
fields. Images on the web pages are identified with a serial number.
Locate the corresponding record in the editing window by entering the number
of the image in the entry field or by using the +/- buttons. Modify the
information as desired and then click the Update button. You must reload
the web page in the browser to see the effect of the change. You may undo
the changes for an image at any time before you click the Update button by
clicking the Undo button instead. A backup file (named archive_bak.htm) is
created at the start of any editing session.
