HTMLo optimization engine is a bilinear streaming filter with smart
tag and common text recognition. We help you to make site traffic more
effective and more cheap and to lower disk space usage. Also HTMLo
makes HTML code unreadable for users that are going to steal your own
HTML techniques.

WHAT IS NEW:

  - new optimized engine -- now all optimization for single pass :)
  - HTML comment removal
  - SGML comment removal except valid Apache Server Side Includes
  - fixed some bugs :)

1. OPTIMIZATION FEATURES:

  Core engine includes:

  - removal of tag parameters quotation when it no necessary
  - removal of all empty strings
  - removal of double space symbols when it no necessary
  - removal of all CR symbols if such symbols exist
  - removal of LF symbols when it no necessary
  - replacement of tags (STRONG with B and EM) with I when specified
  - removal of closing </P> and </LI> tags if specified
  - removal space symbols when it no necessary in scripts
  - removal of other space and tabulation symbols when it no necessary

  Other features:

  - single file and directory recursive optimization
  - backup file operations (store, restore, move)

2. INSTALLATION:

  After unzipping place HTMLo.exe into you binary directory such as
  c:\windows\command or c:\winnt\system32. And you may use it from
  system command line.

3. USAGE:

  HTMLo.exe file.html [-command] [--options]
  HTMLo.exe <directory> [-command] [--options]

WARNING: By default I optimizes without backup(s) and option(s) set.

4. COMMANDS: (only one command may be used in the same time)

  b - optimize and keep backup file(s)
  r - restore from backup file(s)
  d - remove backup file(s)
  m - replace original file(s) with backup file(s)
  l - display license information

  file.html - file to be optimized
  <directory> - directory to be optimized recursively

5. OPTIONS: (give no effect with r, d and m commands)

  r - replace <(/)STRONG> with <(/)B> and <(/)EM> with <(/)I>
  d - delete closing </P> and </LI>
  c - <!-- --> smart removal (leaves scripts and correct SSI)
  t - capitalize tags

6. EXAMPLES:

  HTMLo.exe . -b --rdc (optimizes all files from current directory with backup)
  HTMLo.exe . -r (restores original files from backup)
  HTMLo.exe c: (optimizes all *.htm? files on drive c: with no backup)
  HTMLo.exe file.html --rdc (uses all tag optimization)

7. FUTURE:

  We are going to create:

  - "HTMLo" for Linux, FreeBSD, AIX and other UN*X'es
  - "XHTMLo" with GUI for Windows and UN*X'es
  - optimization engine libraries for Windows and UN*X'es
  - optimization modules for Apache, Lotus Domino and other HTTP daemons
    to enable "on the fly" optimization
  - optimization module for SQUID proxy-server
  - XML optimization engine

  Also we are going to make our engine more powerful, smart and reliable.

  Next thing you may wait is "HTMLo" for UN*X.
