1.1 * Introduction *

Internet Signup is a great way to setup your customers accounts
easily without having to walk them through the setup. The main
idea behind it is that they can have a disk that will signup
there machine, or any other machine for that matter, with just
a few clicks. And incase the settings become scrambled, you can
redo the settings the same way they did when they signed up.

Internet Signup takes advantage of Internet Explorers and Windows
95 IEAK signup procedure. By launching a simple installation file
(Actually a text file with all the information loaded on it) the
customer tells the computer to load all the settings they would
need to get onto the Internet using your ISP.

Although this is in no way meant to get rid of your tech support
this helps ease the process many customers have to endure to get
on the Internet. Your tech support has to guide them through a
simple procedure and then help them with any problems they have.
(IE this will not configure the Netscape browser, however it in
theory should setup the DUN enough so that Netscape can figure
it out) We at GreenNet have found that having a good technical
support staff is more important than handing out any set of disks.

1.2 * Instructions *

The first time you run this program click on the Settings button,
Change all the information to your settings, I've provided examples
that are used here at GreenNet. When you are done save the file.

For Quick Links fill in the names like "Our Homepage" and then
the urls like "http://www.myisp.com", MAKE SURE THEY BEGIN
WITH HTTP://

Thats all the setup you need. Now you can insert a disk into the
drive and run Signup.exe from it's directory on your harddrive
(NOTE: The disk drive must be letter A). Fill in the neccesary
information and your all set. We've included a box to the right of
the normal boxes to change the mail settings, since your customers
may be hosting a domain on your system we found it neccesary to
have the ability to change the email address quickly without changing
it permanently.

1.3 * Errors *

These are the most common errors found while running this software

File Not Found
- If this happens when you first run the program it is because
it can't find the .ini file needed for it to find the settings.
The file must be named signup.ini and be in the directory with
your .exe

Run-Time Error 71 (Disk not Ready)
- You forgot to put a disk in the drive. Place one in the drive
and redo your setup. Remember the drive must be A:.

1.4 * Whats New *

1.3 - BIG UPDATE. You can now edit the Quck Links
and Help page areas. Quick Links and updates
are the areas you see that have globes next to them
in Internet Explorer. Help is the big button you
                 get in the toolbar!
1.0Beta - First release, No known bugs, but not feature rich.
1.0 - First Major release, Again no bugs *pat on back*
now has a setup routine built in, along with ability
to change the country code, and the ability to edit
the entire mail and news server strings.

2.1 * Registration *

The main program here is Shareware/Freeware. You can run the
current version of Signup.Exe as long as you would like. However
there are a couple options left out from this version that a
small registration would fix.

A registered version will include:
* Ability to change around the Favorites Folder
* Ability to change from PPP to SLIP protocols
* Ability to include custom made images (*Not yet supported but will
					  be in future releases*)
* Ability to customize Search Engines, Help pages, etc.
* Ability to enable or Disable a proxy server
* Ability to change branding flags
* Ability to change device type (for Lans and Wans)

All this is available for a $10 registration charge. Just fill
out and send the Reg.txt in the mail to:

Or if paying by Visa, MC, Amex, Discover, or Direct Debit send
the Reg.txt to Dannydp@greennet.net

Want the source code? Send $50 to the above address and I will
send it to you. This was programed in Visual Basic 5.0 using
standard ActiveX/OCX components. You'd be amazed at the coding
behind this program, it truly is one of a kind.
