                        32 bit version 2.5

                   Site list manipulation utility

                         by The TelePlayer

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

	*ListWin accepts command line parameters*
*ListWin can now encode passwords into a WS_FTP.ini file*

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quick descrip:

The ListTool is used when you have a mess of FTP sites you want to get organized!

Installation:

Run the setup file to start the installation program which will optionally create
the entries in your start menu. Click the uninstall icon to remove it.

Usage:
Run the app by double clicking ListWin.exe or using the shortcut in your
Start Menu.
For help on command line options and usage, see cmdline.txt

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a descrip of the different choices:

1. Sort plain text file.

Use for any ftp lists...those obtained from the IRC...Anything
cut n' pasted off the web...even raw html format files!

2. Sort plain text file and remove sites that need login & pwd.

Same as 1, but removes sites that need login & pwd for use
with batch file creation or cut n' paste...See below.

3. Sort plain text and make into a WS_FTP.ini file.

Same as 1, but creates an INI file to use with WS FTP.
This file can also be imported into CuteFTP...

4. Sort and convert list to a batch file.

Same as 2 but makes the list into a batch. See below.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The second part of the program is to convert it to a batch
file. This is designed to work with the ftpp.bat program I wrote
which in turn uses NcFTP, which is the handiest little ftp program
for Win95. It works from the command line and is very Unixish. You
can get a hold of it at www.windows95.com. You can edit ftpp.bat to
use your favorite command line FTP client if you like. It will create
a batch file which, when run, will call ftpp.bat with each
of the sites in your list! Handy dandy! So now you can run through an
entire site list with just two little double clicks!!

Other options:

  Paste box:

This button opens up a new window in which you can
paste text (eg. off of a web page). Use ctrl-V or the paste button
to paste. If there is text in the box, and you select one of
the sort buttons, it will use the text in the paste window instead
	of the input filename.

  Rewrite/Add to file:

This is useful if you want to keep a running record of
the ftp sites...especially for WS_FTP. Then you can just keep
adding sites onto your ws_ftp.ini as you find them.

Planned revisions:++++++++++++++++++++++++

To integrate the FTP as well to check the sites.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

News and history:

1-13-97 : Re-coded .ini file handling. Added paste, cut, copy, and clear buttons to
          the paste box.

1-11-97 : *deep breath* Added drop down combo boxes for the input and output file
boxes. Killed the set default button. Changed the look again. Added .ini
file support to save the last 10 files used in both input and output and to
save the last used files, options, and window placement. *whew*

1-9-97 : Fixed a bug in the program that made it crash on large files. Also added an
          installer program.

12-23-96: Changed the look of it because it took up too much screen
          in 640x480.

12-21-96: Whew! Added paste box, rewrite/add to file buttons, removed
swap button, changed look, changed batch sort...and more

12-18-96: Cracked the (simple) code wsftp uses to encrypt its passwords
and coded it into the ListTool.

12-16-96: Added buttons to view input and output files. Changed the
look of a few little things.

12-14-96: Added an About box, command line support and other misc.
          goodies.

12-12-96: Changed the way choices 3 and 4 worked and added some more
error checking. 3 and 4 will now change the filename but
use the same directory when making a wstp.ini or batch file.

12-11-96: Boy, I'm busy today! Fixed (another!) bug in the sorting
          algorithm.

12-11-96: Fiddled some more and made the output file box editable.

12-11-96: Added the default file option...my favorite gadget so far!

12-8-96 : Fixed a few more little things and found a slight bug.

12-7-96 : Fixed minor bug in the sort algorithm.

12-6-96 : Yes! Done with the 32 bit version...Still have one little
bug that I'm trying to iron out...

11-28-96: What, working on Turkey day? Yep...fixed bug in the batch
          file creation.

11-23-96: Completely re-coded! Can now auto detect difference between
sites taken from a www site and regular sitelists. More
stuff added and taken away to make it easier to use.

9-29-96 : Created the ListLine and added icons to ListTool

9-23-96 : Added choices 6 and 7, see above

9-21-96 : Fixed small bug in choice 5 :)

9-21-96 : Added a choice 5 to just convert file to a batch, changed
          codeing around a bit more.

9-20-96 : Added error checking for bad filenames, cleaned up the code
a bit, and made the default extension .txt.

9-18-96 : The choice 1 plain sort now works with login and passwords
          almost perfectly!

9-14-96 : The plain sort (choice 1) does not handle login and
passwords well yet...It will get the site, but not the l
and p. It will soon! :)
