Description :
Monitoring and checking in real time the working of any service (HTTP,
FTP, SMTP, POP, etc.) is one of the possibilities offered by
Netobserver to administrators of networks TCP/IP. It checks whether
connections are accepted or not and, when working with HTTP, it is also
able to load WWW pages or execute CGI programmes.

If a failure is detected, the programme will notify it by generating
both sound and visual signals. It is also able to send e-mail messages
and faxes, to connect through RAS or to execute an application. In case
of sending e-mail o fax, it will specify which is the service not
working properly. This way you will be the first one in detecting the
failure. It is possible to configure the number of failures to occur
before notifying and means and times to warn (fax, e-mail, RAS, etc.).

Netobserver creates a log which might be later used to generate any
report about working and so on. There is no limit in number of IP
addresses/services that you will be able to control as often as you
wish (from 10 seconds on).
